TOMTOM RIDER Lifetime maps

This question is to those that have a TOMTOM RIDER with lifetime maps. I'm not very smart when it comes to computers so what I'm looking for is a step by step instructions on how to install an updated map for my TOMTOM. I've tried several times but they all lead me to the same point where I have an option to buy maps. I know I'm making this harder than it should be. When it come to model information what version is it? I just purchased this unit a month ago and it was brand new. Thanks to anybody that can help.

TomTom Rider model 4GD01, Just a how to hook up guide, yes, Like I said, it just a guide to show you how to hook up and charge basically, no user's guide as far as how to download free maps.

If you have registered your device some how you should have gotten a code to activate the free map update service.
