• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Torque spec's

Hi all , looking for the torque spec's on the oil filter cover and the HCM "screws" (2009- se5) Shows in the Operator's guide for the drain plugs (15 lbf.ft), but not the screws . Tried the search bar .. but no luck . Thanks .. Gilly

Torque Specs are for clean, dry threads. It is difficult to get clean, dry threads on anything that contains or contained oil........... specially when the opening points down.

What Highwayman just said up there.............

Personally, I would not torque them If your torque wrench is not accurate you can easily strip these very small screws into an aluminum case. You get no real feel with a torque wrench. I use a stubby 3/8 drive ratchet and just carefully snug them. They do not need to be very tight at all and this is a much safer way to go. The O-Ring does all the sealing work and requires very little pressure to do so. The key is to run the screws down evenly putting uniform pressure around the O-Ring circumference. Where people get into real trouble is when they tighten 1 screw down all the way and then try to match it on the other side. Many a stripped case doing it that way.
