• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Trailer plug pin adaptor

2Gunns

RT-S PE#0032
Has any come up with a Spyder to standard 4-pin wiring harness adaptor for a (non-BRP) trailer? I understand you have splice into existing harness and run a 4-pin, just wandering if someone has come up with a way o make that as simple as "plug-n-go"

About to get my hitch installed, finally. Trailer comes next....yeaah!

A 4-wire trailer is a tough nut to crack. The Spyder RT has separate turn signals, and two (separate) brake wire outputs (you can use either, or wire the trailer to use both. As a result, you cannot get a combined brake output without losing the turn signal function, unless you use a converter. Unfortunately, the solid-state converters don't seem to work well in this application...especially if you have LED trailer lights. Easiest way is to add separate turn signals to the trailer, and wire accordingly, then add a BRP trailer tongue harness (if you only use one trailer), or make an adapter from the BRP trailer harness to a 5-pole plug. Sorry, no plug-n-play.

I spliced in the harness that came with the Spyders hitch to the harness that came with my Uni Go trailer. It wasn't a 4 pin though.
