TricLed Sequential LED Turn Signals & Running Lights - Anyone else having issues??

I purchased the Sequential LED Turn Signals & Running Light kit from Sling Mods for my 2021 S2S when they were first released last year. Within 5mo the Leds began to burn out.
TricLed sent a replacement kit under Warranty. They are now burning out again. Contacted Sling Mods and am waiting to hear something. I know of 3 others experiencing the same thing. Anyone else out there have issues??
Kit is very expensive and I assumed for that price it would be a 1-time purchase. :sour:

My old ones lasted for 3 years. 2 pins burnt out and they sent me a brand new set last year. Same thing happened on the new set as yours. I hit a deer and destroyed the left fender and the insurance company purchased a new set. Haven’t installed them yet. I was thinking it was a fluke maybe not. Sling mod get theirs from tricled. They are the same. Cindy is great to work with. Best customer service. I’m thinking it the manufacture not tricled. I’d contact Cindy and explain. I bet they send you a new set.

Sorry to hear, I looked at these style lights but didn't want the sequential part, I went with the rear facing Show Chrome from Dennis Kirk and I'm very happy with them. "Hope that they make it Right for you, My sympathy., Bill

I just had to replace my right amber fender due to 3 leds out…..TricLED was kind enough two send a replacement lamp for $15. Only 1.5 years old. 8000 miles

All of my original set have since misbehaved to varying degrees. I was sent some replacements once and three out of four have also gone south. I was able to purchase replacements at $15 a set and so far they have been alright. After they go, I’ll have to switch back to the factory reflectors

They are obviously using cheap led's. They should last for a very long time. Like the kind of crap you buy on Ebay. There are a lot of companies doing this. I sure wouldn't think Tric would be one of them though given their prices. I can't believe all of the negative responses you have received here.

Does anyone know what led's Tric is using in their strips? 5050, 3528, etc.

.

One side failed with in a few months and was quickly replaced with NO hassles. They have been flawless over the past year and a half +.

Installed mine 1.5 years ago and they work still fine. BUT they are not really waterproofed; after washing the Spyder the water stands IN the red lights and they start flickering until the water runs out.

Just ordered a set yesterday. I can vouch for their customer service, as they promptly replaced a defective fog light free of charge. But yeah, LED lights "should" be a bit more trouble free...

I got a set this winter and yet to install. It may be a challenge to replace a strip, going by the installation procedure? Friends of mine commented on the fragile the gauge wire.

The ongoing theme has been the manufacturer has been very good about replacements. In warranty or out, I would suggest dealing direct. Most will try to hang on to their reputation. Since this seems more than an isolated incident, I am hoping until a fix is figured out that they will honor their warranties or more. :bbq:

Cheri and I have had those lights on both of our spiders for about 5 years and have not had any issues with them.

My dad had the original standard tricled blinking on his 14 till last summer when he traded it in and never had a problem. The original set is totally different than sequential set. I purchased the second generation in 2017 for the blinking. Only one pin burnt out in 2020. I should have left it alone. The sequential series seems to be when thing changed.

Your friends are correct. The gauge of the wires is terrible. Cheapest, thinnest available. I looked at one the wrong way before installation and the wire came apart. SlingMods sent out a replacement right away, but still, for a few cents more TricLed could upgrade these for what we pay for them.

That being said, they are a great looking addition to the Spyder. Installed mine last fall - hoping for no problems.

UPDATE to my original post:

TricLed has agreed to send a replacement set for $15.

I spent nearly $300 for the 2020-2021 Spyder RT "Sequential LED Turn Signals & Running Light kit". In my mind it should have been once and done. Not once, then another $15 every few months. Not to mention the hassle and the time spent to take the fenders on and off. I am hoping the flaws have been fixed and the newest set is the final one, because I really like them.

The problems may only relate this particular light kit. The replies to this thread so far, make that unclear. I cannot speak to TricLed's entire line of products. I only ask about 1 product.
Please only reply if it relates to this specific light kit.

Has anyone just lifted/removed the front tire(s) and did the install with the fender on the machine? Looks like everything would be easily accessible this way.
