• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Upshifting causing right turn signal to come on

Our friend, ViperRed, is visiting us from Tennessee. On the trip, his 2011 RTS-SE5 started turning on the right turn signal every time he presses the upshift button. Has anyone encountered this? Our dealer says they haven't heard of this happening to any of the Spyders they service.

Well that's a new one! Is he positive that he's not catching the turnsignal switch when dropping down to upshift? :dontknow:
The only other course of action would be for the dealer to check that swtich block over to see if there's something screwy in it.
Please let us know what is found!

Per Bob D: that is a new one. Would like to hear more about what caused and how fixed when you get that far.

Sounds like a wiring harness problem. Had a new El Camino long ago that had a similar problem. Key out of ignition, put your foot on the brake with the right turn sig. on and the radio would play. The dealer had a good laugh and replaced the harness.

Well at least you know which way the bike wants to vote in the next election:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

Sounds like time for a new left control pod, but that's just a guess. Whetehr the dealer (or BRP) has heard of it before or not, they have an obligation to fix it. Not saying this one is that way, but dealers that use that line as an excuse to avoid a repair give me a rash!

It may be as simple as either a short in the switch causing the turn signal to come on but not enough to blow the fuse, or your bike is possessed:shocked:.
