• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What is a sway bar???

Guesswho

I keep reading on here about how people install a (anti?) sway bar on their rydes. What the heck is it and what does it do? Is it a necessary add-on? From what I've read people are glad they installed it.

It's that bar with sway.:roflblack::roflblack::joke::joke::joke:.

Sway bar prevent you from getting your :spyder2:out off control if you tried to drive your :spyder2:to the outer limits that is design for. But if you drive like me on sunday morning or in a full moon you don't need it. Oem sway bar are just fine.

The anti-swaybar, anti-roll bar, or swaybar for short, resists opposite movements of the two sides of the suspension. By doing such it reduces body roll or sway, whereby the vehicle tries to roll over in a turn. The Spyder already has a swaybar, and the pre-2013 Spyders (and 2013 RSS) had suspension adjustments that could also resist compression and reduce the tendency to roll or sway. Many owners long for more, especially if they are spirited or heavy riders, carry a passenger often, or carry a lot of cargo. In that case an aftermarket swaybar may be of value. Unlike changes in the spring preload, it has no effect if bumps compress the two sides of the vehicle equally. Whether or not you need improvements in this function depends totally on your desires and riding habits. "Need" is a relative thing.

I do not like sway bars. When I go into a bar I do not want some bartenter trying to sway me into ordering something different:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:.

Sorry I could not stop myself:rolleyes:

Just know..!!

that with out it you will not be happy with your ryde..with the oem one you will do fine and it does it's job well..if you go with an aftermarket one (BajaRon) you may become ecstatic..!!:roflblack:

Swaybar=Less Buffeting on Interstates

I'm not a "spirited" rider, so for me the greatest improvement was less buffeting from 18 wheelers and such.

No, no, no...................it's that bar I was in Saturday night after about the 4th or 5th drink. If the bar wasn't swaying; it was definitely drifting from left to right! :hun:

I was swayed!

This past Holiday weekend I was "SWAYED" into a bar for a cold one. Being over 85-F I wanted a cool one to drink. As my Roadster "SWAYED" off the road into the parking lot filled with Harleys, where to park! I find a slot and dismount. Walking to the doorway I was stopped by one of them (I think, OH DUDDAH) he reaches out and shakes my hand and comments on the nice ryde! (I was "SWAYED") He proceeds to tell me of the discounts for first drinks. I pull up a stool and plop down at the bar and ask for a draft.
The guy next to me strikes up a conversation with the
HOT bartender wanting to know how he can get a kiss from her? Then his eyes "SWAY" over to the name printed on her shirt "FIJI" and wants to know what that mean? She's on to this guy and give him a generic reply to cool his heals.
I tap him on the shoulder and looking her straight in the eye, then to the "
FIJI" and "SWAY" my eyes to the other side of her shirt and say "I'm wondering what the other one is "NAMED"?

I guess I am a fuddy duddy here. Never saw a need for anything over and above the OEM set up to cover my agressive riding. I can take most curves at 20 mph above posted without going over the center line, or being out of control. Have never had the nanny get mad at me and try to take control. The nanny does work on my :spyder2:'s (re hydroplaning).

I don't drive like that all the time, but do like the twisties at "speed" from time to time.
