• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Who lives next to you

Gee... I thought that it was kind of cool! I never knew that my neighbor's name is "Dalton"; he's "Ernie" to all of us.

All a matter of public record (unfortunately). Tho this is much easier than going to the courthouse and searching through the recorded documents.

Spyder-Dude,
So do you run 81 between your 2 locations, or do you venture off onto Rte 11(?) when on your Spyder?

I have done both....If I am in a hurry I will go up route 81...otherwise I always try to take the back roads for a scenic country ride :)

I have a couple of very rich or famous neighbors that are not listed. Must be a way you can opt out.

IMO: it is a little scarry that there is so much information about all of us that is so easily accessible. I did it, and up pops a picture of my house with my car parked in the driveway--sometime last summer--along with the names and sometimes phone numbers of my neighbors.

It's grossly innaccurate in my area....there's only 4 houses out here and 2 of them aren't even listed....and they show my house a few hundred yards away in the woods!

I'd rather go to the courthouse, at least the information is accurate.

Just checked this, it shows that someone I've never heard of is in my house. Gonna get my XD and look for him.:hun:

john

The picture they show of my house includes a motorhome that I sold in 2007. just a little out of date.

Google Earth, Gets right up close, When i zoom in on my house i can see my grandson, my dog, and i looking right at the camera. Street level they drive around and take pictures. I watched when they were taking aerial pictures of the town of Tusten NY, They had a truck with a balloon With 360 degree cameras tethered to a winch, They would send it up a few hundred feet take pictures then move on to another spot and send it up again.

Well, the aerial photography is dead on!! Every tree in the photo is exactly where it is on the ground!! :roflblack:

Some inaccuracies here too! They've got my neighbor living in our office, and I think our street number is hung on a barn next door on the other side...
Oh! And my big Pine Tree has been gone for 3 years already and the Library across the street is completed; their picture shows the top-floor as a work in progress...

I pulled it up and according to that my house belongs to my daughter who lived with us a long time ago for a while. It used her name when she was still married to her former husband.....she's been divorced for probably 13 years. :yikes:

Interesting anomolies. Looks like my house was one of the "newer" groups of photos. Sometime last summer. Can't verify the correctness of most of the neighbors--the ones I recognized were on though.
