Will a 6X12 Uhaul trailer work?

Hello,

I want to trailer my RT-S with a Uhaul 6x12 open trailer. It has a 4'9" ramp but is over 6' inside dimensions. Will the Spyder fit?

Thanks!

V.

Don't believe it will. Ramp at less than 5' is too narrow. For good margin on front wheels, 6' wide would be better.

From BRP specs: L x W x H: 105 x 61.9 x 58 in.

If you are giving 4'9" ramp "length" then yes. Ramp "width" would probably not unless you run only half the tire on each side. Not worth that risk!

You have to measure the width of the opening at the back of the trailer, Uhaul's single axle trailers are all too narrow. It's been 3 years since I used a Uhaul, but I think the smallest 2 axle flat bed (around 7 by 12) has a tailgate opening that's wide enough.

I agree with the other comments. You have a wheel span in the front of about 62" and need a ramp that wide. Also, you need either a long ramp or a low bed for the trailer, or else the nose of the :spyder2: will hit the ramp before the wheels start going up. And you do need to check the width of the opening if it's an enclosed trailer to make sure there's room for the front wheels.

I have spend quite a bit of time looking for an enclosed trailer for my GS/RS. Although it will fit inside a 6X12 it will not go through the ramp door. I have not found any that have an opening greater than 58.5 inches. I have an open trailer that is 6.5' X10 and it fits but not much room to spare. I agree with the others go for the 7 X 12 and make sure the ramp is at least 5 feet in length so that the nose does not drag.

The single-axle R&R 7x12 enclosed trailer easily fits the Spyders.
