Your Weather News @ October 2025 Edition

Currently, here in the desert: 86 degrees, mostly cloudy, 5 MPH breeze, humidity at 31%. The high today will be 90 and the overnight low will be 61 degrees. As the afternoon progresses, the cloud cover will disappear, and we should have clear skies by evening. I can hear some faint rumbling coming out of the distant clouds. Most of the precipitation from them is virga...... That is rain that evaporates before it hits the ground. Very common occurrence here in the desert. Stay safe..... Jim

Currently mostly clear sky at 35°F this morning. Yes, the yard work is going to be about 3 weeks of leaves. One of my least favorite things to do. The wife said, "sure looks nice". You know the drill. I do the outside jobs and she does the inside chores.

Today's high will be only 55°F with sunshine.
Low of 30°F with some sun.
No Spyder Ryde Time Today!!
Just to cold for me.

Enjoy your Day and Stay Healthy.
Till Next Time my Friend. (y)

Clear, cold, its 32° here in Wisconsin, supposed to get up to 50° today but I doubt it; the last few days have been rainy and upper 40°s. My Spyder is still calling me for a ride, but it's too cold for me; it's not enjoyable riding when it's cold...

Cold and 32° here in Wisconsin, supposed to get up to 50° today but I doubt it; the last few days have been rainy and upper 40°s. My Spyder is still calling me for a ride, but it's too cold for me; it's not enjoyable riding when it's cold...

I was out riding the other morning in the cold & wet, about 08:30, with the Child Bride on the pillion seat. It was sorta fine-ish when we started out riding tho, only then, about 20 minutes in, the wind strengthened to about 45kmh, the rain set in, and the temp hadn't got above about 8°C since the sun rose! So even before taking my riding speed into account, the wind chill factor was about -5°C, but the forecast was telling us it'd clear and warm once the sun got up properly, burnt off the rain, and the day progressed; and it wasn't really cold & wet enough to make us want to turn around and go straight back home, so we kept going, but we were certainly aware of the chill... We've had a pretty cold Spring so far this year!

And then I saw this guy mowing a bloody lawn, wearing nothing but a pair of almost worn thru getters; shorts so ragged his arse was hanging out & I could almost see the skid marks in his jocks; and an old, stained Jackie Howe... in the bleedin' driving rain, mind you!! BUT, and here's the real kicker, his bike was parked in the driveway, riding jeans, jacket, helmet, & boots hanging off it, all just waiting there, clearly ready to go, only he was mowing the bloody lawn!!

Now I didn't know this fella from Adam, but I just hadta pull into the driveway, stop, and ask - only before I could get a word out, he cut the mower, glanced at the Child Bride, looked me in the eye, and dead set serious, said that he knew it was nuts, but he was on a promise if he got the lawn done in enough time before she hadta go to work that arvo... and he reckoned she was sorta orright and worth the effort!! The Child Bride laughed, I said "Nuf' said", started up the RT again, and rode on. :sneaky:

We had a great morning's ride too, once the rain stopped and the wind dropped, with Fish'n'Chips on the Coorong for an early lunch. And when we were riding home, I swung by to see if the lawn was all mowed and the fella's bike was still in the driveway - it was, on both counts... 😁 So now we're both intrigued, and at the Child Bride's insistence, we've ridden past a few times since, just trying to catch a glimpse of this 'sorta orright' woman who was worth missing out on a morning's ride?! 🤔 Haven't seen her yet, but that same bike's starting to spend a lot of time in that driveway... even when (or maybe especially when) the weather's fine and the lawn's been recently mowed?!

The current temp is 51 degrees, sunny, rain showers off /on.

Today we woke up to a good deal of cloud cover. We will continue to hang on to the decent amount of cloud cover through the day ahead, with the chance of few light showers scattered off/ on rain showers. Most of us will pick up to 0.25" of rain. Temps will climb back into the low to mid 50's for daytime highs. Clouds will stick around tonight and over night lows will dip into the 30's and lower 40's.

Friday, we will have the same weather as we did on Thursday. Clouds remain pretty stubborn through the day and we'll continue to dodge scattered light rain showers as well. Again, rainfall should not exceed more then 0.25" for most of us. Temps are hanging out in the upper 40's and lower 50's for the daytime highs.

As for the weekend we will have drier weather, but we will continue to hang onto a good amount of stubborn clouds as well. Also, some of the mountain summits this weekend as well, the higher terrain spots generally above 4,000 feet could see some minor snow accumulation to close the week and start of the weekend. Temps this weekend range from mid 40's to lower 50's.

Clouds start to break apart, and sunshine returns at the start of next week for Monday and Tuesday. That sunshine should be enough to bump temps up a few degrees back towards the low and mid 50's by Tuesday.

They are keeping an eye on the next chance of steadier rain for midweek next week and beyond into he end of the work week.

This will help with the drought, that we are currently in.

Deanna
