• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyders in the Smokies

Okay, thanks. My feeble brain got the Smokies run confused with the Ft Leonard Wood run. Du-uh.

Also, there are several events over the weekend but, before I sign up for any, I'd like to hear from others as to what they may be doing

  • Famous Dave's BBQ lunch, Friday Sept 25th at Mountain Motorsports, Kodak, TN $12 USD
  • Guided Tours (provided by Steve Pickles from RidetheSmokies.com. Limited to 25 Spyders/bikes)
  • Tuesday Ride (22nd)- Good Times Ride (approx 90 miles 10am start - includes stop at Good Times Spyder dealership in Alcoa. They will host the group to snacks and have specials for participants) $5 USD
  • Wednesday Ride (23rd) - Long Day's Ride (approx 130 miles 9am start - to Appalachia museum [Entry fee not included] and Norris Dam in Norris, TN) $5 USD
  • Thursday Ride (24th) - The Tail of the Dragon Ride (approx 120 miles: 9am start featuring a run on the Dragon) $5 USD

I'm not 100% sure that we will be there or what rides we'll do once we're there but I will say that Steve Pickles was a heck of a guide last year and I'm sure that his guided rides this year will be well worth the $5.

I signed up for the Long Day's Ride and the Famous Dave's BBQ lunch. I did not get to the Norris Dam last year and I wanted to make sure I visited there in 2009.

My plan is for more low number rides. I'm not registering for any of the planned rides as i tend to have more fun just getting out and riding and when i start to get tired plug my destination in the GPS and head on back.
