• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Only thing I can tell is my shift point seems a bit higher 2nd-4th.

Is there a lot of tuning done during a 3000 mile service?

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Most riding 1 up.
Daily rider 5-6 days a week.

Probably no tuning ............ change oil & filters and check other fluid levels and general inspection unless you told them about a problem then they probably checked that.

ISSUES

.......Lower gas mileage is something to consider as indicating a problem..........you only have 3000 miles so are you sure you have a BASE line determined..........and at 3000 mi. my MPG's started getting better ......Mike

winter grade fuel/outside temp can affect. Check tire air pressures. my dealer would jack(mess up) air pressures at service time.

....You mentioned - shift points SEEMED higher - I know you have an SE , could you have accidently activated the " ECO " mode .....because then the shift points are higher........is there a Green symbol on the screen, if so it's in ECO mode.................Lower gas mileage is something to consider as indicating a problem..........you only have 3000 miles so are you sure you have a BASE line determined..........and at 3000 mi. my MPG's started getting better ......Mike

if the shift points are higher after the service it would seem that Eco mode was deactivated. In Eco you shift at lower speeds so in this case he should look for a missing green Eco symbol. Being out of Eco mode could also account for lower gas mileage.

SHIFT POINTS

...:gaah:.....Yes Ann, I got that one backwards..:banghead:......................But I don't think He ever came back to look at His post...:dontknow:....Mike

His last activity was yesterday, at 7:01 pm...
It's just like fishing: throw your baited hook in the water, and wait to see what happens...

Ok, NOT TROLLING

so, I only used ECO for about 500 miles.
i am in Southern California so .....
Air Pressure, I will check.

Would the TECH , just turn off ECO , or is that a setting I can access through display?

To engage or disengage Eco mode you press and hold the Mode button for 2 seconds. You will see Eco on the upper right of the display.

Yes , ECO still comes up Green.....

stiil confused,
80 miles on half a tank... Prior to service, would have been 120.

press while riding it

switch out of eco mode: you'll see the gear indicator at bottom left of screen stop flashing and come up with a solid number of gear it's in

Eco Mode doesn't use less fuel in itself

Eco Mode doesn't use less fuel in itself.

Eco Mode encourages the rider to shift sooner and thus, through keeping engine revs lower, save a smidgen or half smidgen of fuel every tank. It won't cause your fuel consumption to increase by 50%.

Unless there is an engine problem fuel consumption depends on engine speed and load. The higher the revs and the higher the load and the lower the gear the more fuel you will use.

Have you changed your riding style in any way?

If not just check back with the dealer.

All the best sorting it out. :-)

While I understand that this is painfully basic, check to see if the plug wires are firmly on the plugs. My dealer installed the new iridium plugs and my mileage dropped substantially. I traced this problem back to one plug wire just sitting on top of a plug.
