• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Looks like we'll have to connect to the bike AND there seems to be a fee to use Genius Maps in Car connection apps. $44???

BRP Connect is not cheap! The app is free but to use the apps inside can be pricy!

FOBO and Rever is also "Coming soon". So right now Genius Maps, Accuweather and Your playlists are all that are available. Once connected to the bike more apps might be available.

Breaking news: BRP Connect is made out of people!

Is there any value in getting this app IF YOU DON'T HAVE A 2018 SPYDER? if so, what?
Rob

No! The app is so you can run a GPS function on the 2018 multifunction screen.

I'm bumping this long-dormant thread not to contest JayBros' answer, because I'm sure he's right, but I decided to just check out the BRP Connect app to see what all the fuss was about, and ran across this in their FAQ:

Which Can-Am Spyder models is BRP Connect available on?

BRP Connect is available on all Can-Am Spyder RT, RT Limited, F3-T and F3 Limited models.

So, according to this, I should be able to use it on my 2017 RT. Perhaps the BRP Cares team will share their insights with me, in the form of a dealer list.

Maybe they mean all those models in the 2018+ model year(s) lineup.
