• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I ve searched and I cannot find anywhere online which posts the details of the Spyder factory warranty, specifcally what is covered and what is not.

If anyone can help, I d appreciate it. I want to forward the details to someone else.

Operators Guide has the warranty in the back.

draboo,

Here is what I have found so far:

B.E.S.T. website:
http://www.can-am.brp.com/en-US/owner-center/best.htm

B.E.S.T. brochure:
http://www.can-am.brp.com/NR/rdonly...-852B-9CD14A74B065/0/BEST_Protection_enUS.pdf

What I don't understand is what is difference between B.E.S.T and B.E.S.T Plus? I can't find anything that explains the Plus.

Did you purchase the warranty from the dealer in WI?

David

Second answer in the second column of the PDF brochure you linked to. Best Plus includes the 600 mile service and a yearly service for the length of the warranty (1 year warranty - 1 service, 3 year warranty - 3 services). Also, I believe the Best Plus includes roadside assistance / towing where the standard Best does not.

Only difference between BEST and BEST Plus is annual service. Both include roadside assistance. $50 deductible for each component replaced under BEST and $200 limit per each roadside event.

I was actually looking for the details of the original 2 year factory warranty details as far as what is covered and what is not. Someone has a dealer jacking them around and I wanted to send them a link to the details.

Its posted over at Spydertalk. Someone had their countershaft snap off behind the sprocket. Dealer repaired it AND replaced the clutch, claiming that the clutch was bad and wants to charge her $800.00. There is 1000 miles on the spyder and the clutch was working fine before the shaft snapped.

I m smelling festering carp here..

She has Carlo's number. Hopefully it will get straightened out. I did notice that the clutch is not covered under the warranty.

The warranty can easily be accessed by opening the Operators Guide posted on this site.

That should be good faith then the one I saw was origanely a demo so maybe that was why it was covered but this guy was also doing1to 2nd to 3rd gear burn outs :yikes:

According to warranty, exclusions includes clutch plates and facings as normal wear items. Could be using that as an excuse.

:agree: The proof of whether or not it was shot is in the discs and plates. Either they measure to meet spec or they do not. In our state a tech has to offer to return the replaced parts if it is not a warranty job, so it would be easy to measure and compare to the rejection thickness in the service manual. If they did not keep the parts, there is at least room to negotiate, since they can't prove it. The rest of the clutch (if any) is on them unless they can prove abuse.

Good deal on BRP's BEST warranty

For anyone considering to add 3 years to their 2 year factory warranty be sure to see my other posts. I found a BRP dealer who charges $695 for the extended coverage. This sure beats the $1,323 MSRP. Beats even the lowest price I found on ebay...$899. PM for contact info.
