• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What am I getting into - replacing the Steering shaft?

So, is this about the 1/4" of play you mentioned in a previous post? Looking at your Bio, I can see why you like precision. Thank you for your service, BTW.

Attached is the parts diagram for the steering gear on the 2015 RTL. You can see multiple locations of splined connections, a couple of universal joints, and of course, the tie rod ends. Do you have the source of your play narrowed down, or could this 1/4" be the sum of all wear. The tie rod ends are not available separately, but the tie rod is. And comes with the ends. Pretty much just ball joints. The pitman arm doesn't appear to be available separately either, in case that was the source of the wear. So, before I started anything, I would want to ensure parts are available. I wouldn't be inclined to tackle this myself, personally, unless it affected drivability. But, that's just me.

Depending on how much you take apart, I would expect you would want to check the zero on the steering angle and torque sensors. That will need BUDS. Good Luck.

It is a job, but it can be done. Just take your time and set aside enough time to get it done. You have to remove pretty much the entire top end and air box to get this done. You don't have to remove the DPS, but it does have to be unbolted.
