Replying here in this thread (a 'thread' is the string of posts made on/in response to the original post and the subject/question in the thread title) in the public pages, everyone can see your reply - all members who look, including any members who look but haven't responded or posted in the thread yet, and any visitors who are searching the Forum too. So anything you post in a thread really
IS 'public', and you should only ever post info on the public pages of any forum that you don't mind telling the entire world, which is effectively what you are doing!

READ FIRST! How to use the For Sale by Owner sub-forum' Sticky that is a thread 'stuck' at the top of the index page there before starting your own sell/trade/buy thread/Ad in that section.
And if you want to carry on any discussion '
in private', then go to
Direct Messages (by clicking on the little envelope up in the top right of the page, just outboard of your username up there) and enter the usernames of whoever you want to have a private discussion with (if you're lucky, they'll see the notification via red number over the bell that's alongside that envelope up in the top right) and your Messages to/from other are members will truly be private, as they can only be seen by you and the people you send them to/receive them from (unless one of you shares them on with others, of course).That's where you should carry out the 'business' bit of any swaps, buying, trading, or selling, and where you should conduct any negotiations/share addresses, telephone numbers, or pretty much anything that you really don't want to share with the entire world, including anyone out there who might use that info to your disadvantage!
