• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Looking for the Can-Am Cover (plug) for Backrest opening - any ideas?

Looking for the metal plug for the backrest opening on a 2026 Sea to Sky seat. I am short and don’t use the backrest and want to ride without it because it gets in my way when I lift my leg over the seat. Can’t believe BRP doesn’t even offer it as a part or as part of the package but they don’t.

My 2024 Sea2Sky came without the backrest installed, so I installed the backrest after finding the installation instructions online.
I was able to find the metal plug for the hole in the seat.
It was attached to the seat in an odd way. I've attached a couple of pictures.

The slot on the back had a loop of material through it that looked like it might have been a scrap of the vinyl seat covering. The loop wasn't very long, and was stapled to the underside of the seat to hold the plug in place. So you'd have to devise a method to hold it in place.

And yes, it still has the clear protective film on it, so you'd have to peel that off.

And yes, if you want it I can send it to you. I'm in Tennessee.

As for mounting, even though I ride solo, I leave the passenger footrests folded down, and step onto the driver's footboard, then onto the passenger footrest and then swing my leg over.

Yes, I would like that very much. Willing to pay for the shipping cost and a little something for the cover. Hopefully it can be sent in a padded USPS envelope with a little extra protection around the tab insert. I am in Minnesota so if that works for you, I will send you the address. If you have Venmo or Zelle, I can pay you via either. Thank you so much for taking the time to look.

Glad to see that you found a plug for your backrest. I am looking for a 2015 RT-S backrest plug. Interesting how whenever I come to this forum I see a similar post to what is on my mind.

I found this parts site for a 2015 Can-Am SPYDER RTS SE6 Seat:

Is Part #34 what you're looking for?
It says that part is available for $10.99
Black Cap 708001633 $10.99

I used https://can-am-shop.brp.com/ site to look up that part, and it says it was used on 2014-2019 models.

Not sure if I am responding to all of you (Racoon, Les, and Peter) as I am new to how these message threads work. But hope Les found his part, thanks to racoon for sending mine, and Peter as the extra resource.

Replying here in this thread (a 'thread' is the string of posts made on/in response to the original post and the subject/question in the thread title) in the public pages, everyone can see your reply - all members who look, including any members who look but haven't responded or posted in the thread yet, and any visitors who are searching the Forum too. So anything you post in a thread really IS 'public', and you should only ever post info on the public pages of any forum that you don't mind telling the entire world, which is effectively what you are doing!
Check out the following warning on what NOT to post on the public pages here:

You also shouldn't really post any 'For Sale' or 'Want to Buy' type posts here, or try to sell/buy/swap anything on the public pages of the Forum proper, but asking for sources or ideas on where to get something is OK. ;)

However, if you want to buy, trade, or sell anything not of or as a commercial undertaking, you can go to the 'For Sale by Owner' sub-forum (here: https://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/for-sale-by-owner.7/) and read the 'READ FIRST! How to use the For Sale by Owner sub-forum' Sticky that is a thread 'stuck' at the top of the index page there before starting your own sell/trade/buy thread/Ad in that section. (y)

And if you want to carry on any discussion 'in private', then go to Direct Messages (by clicking on the little envelope up in the top right of the page, just outboard of your username up there) and enter the usernames of whoever you want to have a private discussion with (if you're lucky, they'll see the notification via red number over the bell that's alongside that envelope up in the top right) and your Messages to/from other are members will truly be private, as they can only be seen by you and the people you send them to/receive them from (unless one of you shares them on with others, of course). That's where you should carry out the 'business' bit of any swaps, buying, trading, or selling, and where you should conduct any negotiations/share addresses, telephone numbers, or pretty much anything that you really don't want to share with the entire world, including anyone out there who might use that info to your disadvantage!

Hope that helps a bit. DM me if you want any further info - you can do that as detailed above, or click on my avatar pic to the left of this post, then click on the 'Send direct message' button in the bottom line of the profile panel that will appear. ;)

Cheers.
