That must have been a heck of a pop hole hit!Right front, Vredstein Quatrac tires, 175/55R-15 with less than 5k miles on them.
Several insurance policies cover towing. I hit a pothole in a construction area North of Phoenix. This was on the freeway, so I was going plenty fast. Blew out the sidewall of the tire. ...

It was. It was in a construction area where they were widening the road. I was running right at 60mph. Luckily they had reduce the speed limit in that area or I would have been going about 80.That must have been a heck of a pop hole hit!
I run 18 in the fronts and 22 in the rear. Tire lost air immediately and completely. Looking at the tire you couldn't see any damage until it was off the rim. Then you could see the sidewall was damaged. Can I ask what pressure you were running in this tire when it blew??
And did it actually 'blow' instantly, or did the pothole hit just split the sidewall a bit &/or damage it enough to start it leaking air &/or fail later??

Did it tweak the suspension at all? Are you going to get an alignment done?It was. It was in a construction area where they were widening the road. I was running right at 60mph. Luckily they had reduce the speed limit in that area or I would have been going about 80.

I think they call that a pinch failure. I hit a pot hole coming down off Mount Lemon in Tucson Az with right front tire so hard the magic mirror on that side popped off, the Vredestein was fine. Only doing about 30 MPH. Now I hit the German Shepherd in speed it only did 5525 dollars damage. Price went up because they could not get Champaign colored tupperware, and it had to be sent out to a tire shop.It was. It was in a construction area where they were widening the road.
