• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

valve adjustment on an RT question

Questions

Sorry if this has been asked too often but I searched and can't find it.

What is the valve adjustment schedule for an RT ?

Do the valves use shims or are they threaded ?

Is it something that requires a dealer or an ok+ home mechanic ?

If a dealer does it what is an average cost ?
thanks, sonny

6K miles, check and adjust if needed
12.5K adjust

They are under-bucket shim style.
I have done these in the past on streetbikes. Kind of a pain unless you have a full shim kit to keep from running around looking for shims

My dealer price is 75 per head if they need adjusted, on top of the rest of the service

Agree 6k mile valve check adjustment and all other necessary matinence too., dealer charges $750 plus parts of btwn $100-200 depending

on what needs to be done.I have a prepaid matinence for 3 years to cover this.
