I just got back from a 125 mile ride and was very pleased to see that I got about 37 mpg! Yahoo! I had been fiddling with my JB since the second update and I think tuning it down sufficiently did the trick. I didn't record the exact numbers but I really dropped down settings 2 and 4...they seem to be the culprits with the popping while coming out of acceleration, mostly in 4th gear.
I had great performance, crisp acceleration, and no popping (although I have to ask one of the guys I was riding with who was behind me to be sure).
In MD, it's SUPER hot...around 100, with high humidity, so early AM rides are the way to go.
As far as bike temps, the air dam really doesn't do anything for my bike...I was running at 5s with an occasional 4...did it hit 6?...not too sure. It might have once or twice. I stick with my assessment that the air dam is not effective with high humidity areas...this brings up another question...will BRP install the newer fan to help keep the bike cooler? MD certainly meets the criteria of HOT climates...in fact, one could argue that it is hotter here during the summer than out west. I'll take 110 and dry as opposed to 95 with 90% humidity, any day of the week...yuck!
Now to get chores down! Nice to get out early and ride!
