• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

:agree: Great event!~!~

Hey Doc, did you get any sleep on the way home?? I'm back in Newfoundland also. I took the short ferry ryde and rode across the island, adding 900km to my 4200km roundtrip.

Great time meeting up with you, and wow your spyder is pretty fast with that turbo. Thanks for the ryde!

Hope to connect up again sometime!
Dean

Glad you guys made it back safe. Good to hang with you. :2thumbs:

You too Lamont, a pleasure hanging out, chatting and ryding with you !!

The ryde back was good and pretty much uneventful. I did see once moose at about 6am when I arrived in Newfoundland off the ferry. I wasn't going fast because it was foggy along the shore as I set out on the last 900km segment of the trip home. The big bull must have just stepped off the road cause when I passed he was just skipping into the tree line.

Other then that,.

Trying to catch up now on a few things here at home now, after a good night's sleep last night.

Hey doc, did you guys find any Dot 4 brake fluid for Forest on the way back? :dontknow:That should have gotten rid of the C0049 on Forest's cluster.
Cheers,
Dean

Dot 4 must have worked. He beat doc home.lol

Only because that Doc had another 90 miles to go before he got home.

As to the trip Doc put on 180 more miles than I.
I am speaking of road miles.. Some Miles Doc drove were flying miles, off the ground and they don't count.:roflblack:

DOT 4 availability

Speaking of DOT 4, I stopped into a good few gas stations on the way home and I asked out of curiosity, if they had any DOT 4 in stock.... something like 5 out of 7 stations didn't have DOT 4, but plenty of DOT 3.

Where is the best place to get some DOT 4.... and I guess the best place to store some, at least on a long trip, is your Spyder trunk.

... Or can DOT 3 brake fluid be used to top-up a low DOT 4 brake fluid reservoir?:dontknow:

Don't top off with DOT 3! As to storing or carrying brake fluid on a trip, remember that brake fluid picks up moisture from the air. Stored brake fluid from an opened container is risky to use. Buy brake fluid in small bottles to avoid having to store it. If you carry any, make sure it is an unopened, sealed bottle. Discard it if you open it. Brake fluid is very damaging to painted surfaces. I wouldn't carry it on a bet! The best plan is to check brake (& SM clutch) fluid levels before you depart on your journey. Unless you are travelling thousands of miles, or have a serious brake or clutch problem, you should never need to top off the brake fluid on the road.

Dot 3 is not synthetic and the last time I looked only found synthetic Dot4 on the shelf. Not a good idea to mix non synthetic with synthetic.
