• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Getting new Day Long seat for my Black RTS SE5....Black bike with tan seat????

Flight Risk

I am shipping my extra RTS seat off to Day-Long for a custom job. My bike is black and was going for a black seat. out of the blue, I am wondering what a tan seat would look like instead of black.

Any thoughts??? Appreciate all opinions

(if I went with the tan seat i was thinking about some tan Pete's "decals" on the front fenders)

Help......important decision.

I think that would look really good, but it's a decision only you can make. Sorry, not much help, but think of the possibilities!! It's your ryde, make it your own!! :doorag:

I want to see pictures either way!!

Tan seat with a black body. That would look very classy. I'd say go for it.
My F-150 King Ranch is tan over black and those combo's go well together.

Thanks everyone! I called Kim at Russell Day Long and she is going to send me little samples of their different tan colors. I have already written to Pete about the stripe wraps for the frunk and the lock side of the passenger back rest. Maybe some sort of tribal stripes...don't know for sure but definitely going with a saddle tan color (if they offer that)!!!

Thank you all for the input!

just wondering

What is the seat mod. going to cost ???
Dave

Dave, I asked Russell Day Long for another quote as I am now doing the passenger back rest. It's not cheap BUT it is fitted to you, not just off the rack. Also getting the rain cover, etc.

Will let you know the damage as soon as I find out what adding the passenger back rest will cost!

I go on long rides every weekend and I just can't take the stock seat anymore. Corbins are wayyyyyyy too hard for my boney backside soooooooooo, hello Day Long!

You will love your Russell. I've had one on my GS for the last 3 years. I can honestly say I can ride all day on mine. You just don't see anything negative written about the Russells(other than the price:yikes:) I've never seen one for sale here on SL. So I assume the people that have them, like them as much as I like mine. If you look at the long term comfort you will receive, it's a bargain.

Can't help with the color...

My daughter tells me, "Daddy, you're not color-blind... you just have no taste!"

:yikes: :roflblack:
