• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Durango, Colorado

OK have a question about Durango for anyone that went to the other owners event in Durango. What is the best hotel to stay for this years event?

Thanks,
Bob

I stayed at the Best Western - it was OK but the AC was poor ad it is old. I think they have some nicer places on the edge of town. Hopefully, the temps will be a little lower (every day we were there it was over 100) and there won't be fires in the area. Great place to ride, for sure!

We live in Durango. Super 8 is really expensive, especially for what you get. Comfort in isn't to bad and usually the Best Westerns are good, it might have just been bad luck on the other one. The Best Western Rio Grande might be the best of those. Definitely stay away from the Spanish Trails! I'll think on it some more if you're interested.

I have never been to an event but may do this one. We were going to drive to durago and ouray to ride the train anyway.
So how many nights should i plan on in durango? Fri sat and out sunday?

The event is scheduled for Thursday and Friday. If you want to ride the D&S plan an extra day. We planed for a couple to get in some extra riding, too.

The incredible thing is this is on the West Coast, and only 1100 miles from my house which is 100 miles from the West Coast. :roflblack:

I stayed at the KOA two years ago because I had Stumpy with me and pet friendly hotels are hard to find.
It depends on what you are willing to spend? I'm not too picky and I have a tendency to be cheap. I made reservations over the past weekend at the Travelodge for a little over $35 a night. I wasn't sure of the event's dates, so I booked the room for June 24-29. There is lots of out of the way places I can visit that require a 4x4 for the extra days. I did the Alpine Loop two years ago in a 4 door Tundra.

Renting a Jeep and going on some of the spectacular 4WD trails is a great time to be sure. Done that several times. Never worked up a group of experienced drivers to go with me an do Black Bear road...some day, its on my bucket list.

We have been planning to go to Durango to ride the train and go to Ouray to rent a Jeep... only problem is my kids. I wanted to take them on the jeep, but not so much fun for them at the event.
What to do..what to do...

You can rent the Jeep in Durango. No need to drive to Ouray first. Done business with Outlaw rentals several times for off road jeep rentals.

The best hotel to stay in is the one with the most SpyderLovers staying there. Nothing like kicking tires in the parking lot after the day is done.

We did have fun the last time around in Durango, didn't we?

What event is going on in Durango? And when?

Sorry to sound so dumb but I like Durango and would like to go to any event that is there.

My motel choice for Owner's Event is Travelodge..

For me and my love of travel and a budget that dictates how much I get to pursue my passion of ryding Spyder....for about $35 a nite (inc taxes) I got to plan on extra days in Durango to ryde and explore...soooo much to see in Colorado...yes I could choose a higher end motel but then I would have to shorten my time there. I also love being where other Spyderlovers are and "kicking tires" in the parking lot. Great news is that I see lots of Spyderlovers will be in the parking lot of the Travelodge plus I can drive or walk to other parking lots . Each person needs to decide what is best for them...for me this is what gets me more of what I reallllly want...ryding the roads!!! Just my 2 cents worth...do what works for you.:yes:

With all the off road action, sounds like Can-Am should set up some side by sides and ATVs for us to use. Would be good advertising for some of their off road machines.
