In honor of PI day (yesterday), I've re-discovered this little tidbit:

Question: Why do mathematicians always confuse Halloween and Christmas?

Answer: Because OCT 31 = DEC 25

LOL .... don't be afraid to ask for an explanation -- Math Geeks and Computer Scientists should find it easy.

Joe .... us math geeks and computer nerds know how to count in several "bases" ... binary, octal, hexadecimal, and decimal.

Octal 31 is base 8 and breaks down to (3 x 8) + 1 in decimal, or 25

Thus OCTal 31 = DECimal 25

Make sense now?
