• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. 2014 RTS audio issues?

My first issue with the new 14, the radio will not pick up stations that it should clearly be able to get. Today while out riding stations would come and go with "cross talk" and "crackling" decided to check into a few things and found this right off the bat. Figured this was surely the problem but it only helped a minimal amount. Anybody come across anything else I should look for before going back to the dealer?

yep you. Are missing a brass washer/ nut the that holds the unconnected wire on to the antenna. The only place that I found that has brass nuts / ect are boltdepot.com. Just need to make sure of the size of the screw which as far as I can tell is 4mm x 7mm

Yep I got this fixed thinking it was the problem but I think there is still something else loose somewhere because sometimes the stations come in real good.

Did you replace using brass nuts? I replaced the screw with stainless & having the same issue. So I think everything needs to be brass. Would order a whole new set screws and nuts if I knew the exact sizes for sure

I've noticed that the radio doesn't allow you to select a pre-set for a station, as easily as my 2010 did...
Reception seems to be the issue... :dontknow: But I really haven't experimented enough with it yet...
Usually, the XM or the I-Pod is doing the heavy lifting for the music anyway! :D

These come with a radio

All kidding aside. Take it back to the dealer as they did not do the assembly correctly and have them fix it.

Since I never use a radio on a motorcycle, unless it can stream through my headset, I have no idea what the one on mine can or cannot do.

While I feel the radio has a better sound than my 13 the reception is really poor. I would almost bet it's an antenna issue, might try a "boosted" antenna to see if things improve. I have a boosted unit on my VTX and I can dial in stations that are pretty far away that I could not normally get.

My 2011 radio had to be replaced to get decent receptions, my 13 is ok. Like the CB, the lack of a good ground plane makes it difficult so a boosted antenna may be your best bet if you want more.

There is a connector from the antenna to the radio. The radio is under the right passenger handle. It is easy to get at this connection by removing 2 screws and sliding the cover off. You will see the radio and be able to follow the cable back to the round antenna connector. I bet this is possibly not plugged in all the way.
