• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Says racks can be removed in 45 seconds!

No... There is no way the racks themselves can be removed in 45 seconds. I think that was a poor choice of wording on their part. The bags can be removed that fast though.

I just went out to my garage and looked at my racks. I have the PLX,etc and the only difference is that the BRP seems to sit about an inch or two lower on the Spyder. THe handles for my V35's are almost even in height with the passenger grab bars. Of course, the turn signal mounting is different too.

If you look at the pics BRP mounts the racks differently than IND7 and GIVI.

BRP somehow mounts them through the rear panels in two place in addition to a mount on the rear footpeg bracket. If those mounts are all quarter turn fasteners of some sort, I guess they could be quick release. If so, hats (and racks) off to them.

I can get those racks off in 45 seconds. No Problem. I have a gas powerd saw called a K12 or rescue saw.:doorag:

Thanks for the link. I had missed that one, and it does answer the questions we had. It does appear that these racks are similar to the SW-Motech quick-release racks. I have seen those, and they do indeed remove in less than a minute...a bit longer if you use their locking harware for the quarter-turn attachment. I think we will be pleased with the BRP offering. Glad Nancy ordered some already. I hope they arrive soon.

 I'm excited to have mine on order too! Will have to look at the new blinker setup from NMN - maybe can ditch the BRP blinker setup altogether then!

Only if you leave your bags on all the time. The nanny may have problems with the missing bulb load, too.

Leave the bags on fulltime? I don't think that will be an issue at all.

Have you ever see how ugly these brackets are without the bags on?:yikes:

Unlike others out there, our system will "play nice" with the Spyder and not cause fast flashes and codes to appear.

I like this new rack system. I think it looks beter than the GIVI and the others.

And With MM lights it will even be better.

I think my wife might like theses also.

If she does we will get them right after the Cobin Seat. Unless we can get a look and sit on the new BRP seat.

What do you think Quackerz? :spyder:

Well.. If the racks can be removed in 45 seconds, I'd like to see it. Add to that my curiosity on how secure the racks are with that system when holding the bags.

Somebody buy them so you can tell me!

Uhm... Maybe I'm a dunce here... :) (SHhhhhhhh), but what stops anyone from removing the rack should they want to bad enough?
We'll have to see what the BRP hardware is like. The SW-Motech racks have a special locking bolt available. With luck this will fit the BRP setup. If not, hopefully the aftermarket will step in. I'm sure there will be a way, even if it involves cables and locks. I have had many bikes where the bag racks could have been removed with the proper tools, and have yet to have one of them tampered with.

Well - removing just the rack would be useless as you wouldn't have the mounting hardware that is attached to the bike. There's a way to lock it all to the bike if you wish. These just don't get stolen. Anyone smart enough to know what it is wouldn't do it.

You've got a better chance of being hit by a school bus full of 6-toed nuns being driven by a purple kangaroo. :D

Based on the Pictures its 3 or 4 quarter turn bolts that hold it on to the mounting locations. Those i'm sure are permanent.

There are three key locks per side – one being hidden behind the saddlebag for a better theft protection. The three locks are also mounting points and owners can disconnect both bags and rackings in about 45 seconds.

It's a miss print. And should have been from.

I don't think so. The bags release in mere seconds per side on other setups I've seen, so stating '45 seconds' for just removing the bags only wouldn't make any sense.

Either way I've got them on order---- I like how they mounted them better than the GIVI or IND7.
