• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Learning to ride this bike: my progress so far

I’m not one for braking in corners anyway. I get the speed and gear right and then take the bend, gently powering through it. On the solo I’d use the power out of the corner as the arrowhead moved away, to lift the bike. I haven’t got a clue what I do with the Spyder. Something similar is...

Learning to ride this bike: my progress so far

Thanks for this @Monk/Bob. I'm about a month behind you and have only done 32 miles in two very tentative rides. I wrote elsewhere pretty much what you have written - I did search first, but clearly didn't have the correct key words. The forum has just found some similar posts to mine, your...

Complete Newbie Experiences - 2021 RT Limited

Just had a new key cut. Non-chipped, but useful for saving wear and tear on the chipped ignition key. For reference the JMA ZA9P1 blank works a treat. (2021 RT Ltd) Previous bad experience with a Honda HISS key which are made of a soft alloy, taught me this trick. I always used the...

Complete Newbie Experiences - 2021 RT Limited

Thanks for the Reply @RayBJ - I discovered that was the most re-assuring thing to do. I certainly used to lean heavily on the sidecar side when I rode a combination, and the same trick seems to give me more confidence. Although I noticed a couple of times that having leant as far as I could...

Complete Newbie Experiences - 2021 RT Limited

My new to me RT Limited arrived on Friday, looking pristine with 8000 miles on the clock. I know that getting used to steering behaviour is going to be ‘interesting’ - I rode motorbikes with sidecars fitted for 6 years, and went through a similar process of learning how to go round corners. In...

Looking for a good GPS - Touring, no off road. Considering Garmin Zumo XT - thoughts?

@Sagebrush - there are a few reasons that you may not be getting turn by turn directions on the XTs If turn instructions are shown on the top banner, then the problem is with the mixer/volume level, or with the BT sound connection. If you load a track, rather than a route, and select Go!, then...

Does anyone decorate or outfit their Spyder for Christmas?

I've spent the last three days spring cleaning the garage and three car loads of stuff to the rubbish dump (tip). I don't think we'll be decorating it when it arrives tomorrow - it has a sparkling clean garage to wear and is a nice deep christmassy red anyway. I might put a sprig of holly on...

Looking for a good GPS - Touring, no off road. Considering Garmin Zumo XT - thoughts?

I'll chip in here, if I may. Newbie member - I don't even get my Spyder until tomorrow morning, but I do know quite a lot about the Zumos, and currently have the XT1 and XT2 (The XT1 is actually called the XT, but I tend to add the '1' so that people know it isn't a Typo.) The XT1 and XT2 both...

    Welcome, JohnRtl

Many thanks for adding me to your forums. A little introduction and background. I live in the UK, grew up with tandems, motorcycle & sidecar units as our family transport. Cycling was and still is an important part of my life. As a young adult I had two motorcycle combinations - a Cossack Ural...
