• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Motorcycle Only Checkpoint Stops

The semi truck stops are... DOT (department of transportation) stops to ensure the drivers are not abusing the number of hours they are supposed to drive each day. Many of the newer trucks have QualCom systems which prevent this but many of the older trucks "well the drivers have two log...

    Real gas and mileage

Regular gas does get better mileage. The higher octane was designed to stop the "spark knock", as some of us old timers use to call it, or "pinging". It's that irritating rattle when you accelerate a high compression engine briskly. I have one of the new 3.5 dual turbo 360 hp engines and...

    Real gas and mileage

IWN2RYD & I like your Eagle... wish I could find one to put on the back of my F-150. Like the rest when I want alcohol I want it in a drink. Have a great day folks and ride 'em safe! Ken krb1945

    Real gas and mileage

I have found a gas station in south Georgia that sells real gas... meaning there is no Alcohol in the gas. We have been testing this non-alcohol gas in two of the spyders and the GL1800. I log mileage and amount when fueling so I have some numbers now. After clearing the small amount of near...

Replaced my Y gaskets today... where my old ones bad????

Needed new gaskets Replacing them was the right thing to do. Using the GL1800 gaskets is also the correct way to go. We have found that re-torquing the band clamps about once a month helps to increase the life span of the gaskets too. The volcano temperatures when running and then cooling at...

    Grease On The Back Fender

The tire is probably picking up lubricants and tar at the intersections. We mainly ride the two lane black tops in GA and FL and this seems to happen a lot in the heat of the summer. Ken krb1945

Finally got to ride some Saturday...

It was great to saddle up and ride for a while. Weather was stunting with temperature at 80. I've been behind the power curve for a while and I'm wondering if there any after market sources for the sprockets and drive belts yet? Have a great week and ride 'em safely! Ken krb1945

    Opinions on this Sprocket

I'll try... setting the torque pulling from the bottom when I get back to the south. I have disassembled all the rear and every thing is fit as a fiddle. I am guessing the right side will torque the axle forward even if the weight is on the ground. Is this a valid assumption? Ken krb1945

Spyderwolf did you... replace the belt at the same time? The one that won't adjust also has a bad low speed whine. Ken krb1945

    Opinions on this Sprocket

Freddy, You are... correct. Every thing looks and feels tight as it should be. Rear wheel bearings are snug and no noise as they should be. I am going to re-assemble it and try again. If it doesn't adjust this time I'll pull all the bearing out of the rear and install new ones. Ken krb1945

    Opinions on this Sprocket

Belt and rear bearings This belt has even wear across the teeth/or ribs... no cracks or angle wear. There is no noise or play in the rear bearings. I guess I'll bite the bullet and pull the rear wheel and belt off the other 08 and see if anything changes. Thanks for the tips because when I...

    Opinions on this Sprocket

As some of you know I have three spyders... 2 2008 SM5's and 1 2009 SE5. I am also one of the riders that is having trouble getting one of the 08's belt to adjust properly . It is either against the inner rear sprocket flange or at the extreme outside edge. I adjusted two of the spyders...
