• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My 2011 RT has running rough issues and runs very hot - any ideas?

There is a whole lot of questions coming your way and let me start!! You say your parking brake cable came off, did the brake lock up or was it freewheeling? Did you smell a lot of gas smell coming out of the tail pipe? What kind of mod's have you done to your bike, motor wise? It sort of sounds...

Anyone know the part number and where I can get a replacement Rear Shock Mount Bolt for a 2010 RT?

Take the one you have and go to the hardware store or auto parts store and ask for the same size in a grade 8, don't have to be metric, get the matching self-locking nut to match!

Should I get a 2014 now, or wait and get a newer model? Any 'gotta have' features?

If you are going to do your own service on it buy a 2014, but if you are not going to work on it save your money and get something closer to the eight- or seven-year-old style, because there are more and more shops not working on the older rides! Be patient and shop around in not a hurry, there...

My 2024 S2S Seat has no strut - did BRP discontinue them?

Troop beat me to the punch!!! Buy an aftermarket strut, not BRP, unless you want another weak noodle! 😉

What could cause this Squeal on starting out in first gear?

You can use either one. I use the 10W40 myself! (y)

Tooting my own horn here - my Elka II Rear shock install went well!

You have the manual fill setup on those bikes, right? How much air are you running in the bag, and have you checked the rear shock for damage or to see if it may have loosened up, it should not be banging over bumps!

Elka Stage 2 rear shock with loose spacers/bushings (black) - should they be like this?

If the whole bottom end of the shock is moving, then it's not tight enough, if the center sleeve's moving in the rubber than somethings up with the bottom bushing itself, and should be replaced because it should be doing that! The bracket that the shock sits in should be tightened tight to the...

Tooting my own horn here - my Elka II Rear shock install went well!

Too bad more people would not drink the water, they would have a happier wallet!! (y)

What year RT rear shock will fit my RS?

Well, it looks like you can still buy the cartridge for that shock, you can't get the spring, if you want to go the cheap route! You can also get the bushings for the ends! I find it hard to believe that the Elka was bottoming out, did you call them out to see if they could help you out?

Tooting my own horn here - my Elka II Rear shock install went well!

I have found that all the things I've have done with my Spyders that I thought was going to be a PITA, really wasn't as bad as I dreamed they would be! Enjoy your new ride!!!!

Will the Canyon front shocks fit on a 2021 RT?

One of these days BRP will get it together and start putting a good shock package on ALL of their bikes instead of the chosen few! The air bag, pump, and crappy shock setup has got to be rethought!! But it's great for the aftermarket suppliers! (y) (y)

Rear Air Suspension not working - compressor runs all the time riding 2-up - any suggestions?

Well, if you like the height of your front end where it is, (and what height was that, just for kicks, I would love to know?) and you're too high for the sensor in the rear to make the compressor behave, you could always make the bike a Manual Fill. Many of us have done this, and trust me, you...

Interesting DESS issue - do you think no cell signal or bluetooth caused this, or is it time for a new key?

While you were at Maggie you should have asked around, my bet is that someone there would have taken good care of that problem for you! A few clicks of the keys and bye-bye problem!

I guess I'm just not a Twisties guy!

The biggest thing to remember here is to ride your own ride!! Even when you're riding with someone else, ride your own ride! Be safe!!
