• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Shoot, I just had the Spyder up on the lift and I saw that bottom universal joint. 🤭 Thanks for the tip tho, I will try again tomorrow. (y)

Play in the power steering, is it fixable?

If I understand the part list correctly, your part number only applies to RT's from 2014 and there on, as they come with the 1330 cc engine. Mine is an earlier Spyder RTS with the 998 cc engine. Yours is probably beefier.

Play in the power steering, is it fixable?

I have never had the nose off, so I think I should buy the workshop manual pdf before I find my tools. And maybe also hold the part ordering untill I have done a hands on check. :giggle:

Play in the power steering, is it fixable?

Thanks for the info Ron, much appreciated. This sounds like a job to be done while in winter storage as there is much to remove. The play I can live with the rest of this season, but will ask my local dealer to order the shaft as soon as possible. 👍

Play in the power steering, is it fixable?

I checked the play and it is 10mm each way, 20mm in total. I also noticed that when I move the handlebar rapidly within the play, I get a small clanking sound. It sounds like it is coming from the center of the front section, so near the power steering area. I will put it on the lift and have a...

Play in the power steering, is it fixable?

When my 2012 RT SE5 was in for wheel alignment by my local dealer, he said there was a lot of play in the steering located at the power steering. So, I wonder if this is just a "tighten your nuts and bolts" job or if it is time for new parts? If anyone has had the same experience, I would be...

Are there any instructions or a video on Replacing the Drive Belt on a 2017 RT?

I replaced the belt on my RT SE5 a couple of years ago and did the job myself. I did however, go to the dealer to have the belt aligned and tensioned properly. Getting the wheel off was easy, but on my RT, there were two more things to deal with. The front pulley has an outer ring that has to be...

Say Goodbye to the Night Sky?

I managed one hour of exposure of the Western Veil Nebulae. Only five images in the session with satellite streaks, but the stacking program kicked those out. (y) End result came out like this:

Say Goodbye to the Night Sky?

A really bad idea for sure! It's hard enough already to not get images full of satellite streaks as it is, but it is still doable. Feel free to take a long shot! ;)
