• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Big increase in MPG

That is amazing. Are you sure the two fillups you used for measuring were to the same level? Best I'm getting these days is still less than 30.

    Two Happiest Days

I believe you may be thinking of the GP engine that Aprilia is working on. Aprilia quit using Rotax and is starting to develop their own.

    Piaggio MP3 500, an alternative?

Sorry about your loss. That had to be terrible. I don't mean to open old wounds. But can you describe in more detail what happened with the suspension? I'm seriously considering a MP3, and would like more info about any potential failures. Is her case documented anywhere?

Has anyone removed the header pipes?

Although the nuts are tough to reach, the rear header comes out without removing any frame parts. Once out, it becomes really obvious that the front and rear headers are of significantly different lengths....i.e....they're not "tuned". I had to dig deep into my toolbox for various wrench...

Has anyone removed the header pipes?

Thanks to the quick help of one of our forum members. The trick is you have to remove the small frame tube on the left side. Once that's hanging lose, the front header will slide right out. Now on to the rear header!

Has anyone removed the header pipes?

I want to get my header pipes ceramic coated. I'm in the process of removing them now. I've got all the body panels off, and the collector off, and the front pipe lose. But I can't seem to find the right angle to get the front pipe out. Is there some trick to it that someone can help me with?

    Got the custom seat done

The best stock seat I've ever had was on a 2006 Buell Ulysses. I could ride that forever. Then in 2007 they lowered it because the 2006 was too tall for most folks. Unfortunately, it ruined that beautiful seat! But you could still get the 2006 model seat for your 2007 in the amazing HD/Buell...

    Got the custom seat done

I brought my Spyder in for a custom seat job yesterday. As many of you have probably noticed, the stock seat has a crown in the center that makes for some butt-pain after a certain amount of riding time. For me, it was about 45 minutes. Anyway, the guy that did it is Don Weber from Mr. Ed's...

    Wrapping the exhaust pipes?

Where did you read the comment that exhaust tape could harm the engine?

    WENT TO LOOK UP CLOSE

Trading in a Harley? You're always better off if you sell it yourself. Have you tried Craigslist? Consignment? Bikes are moving pretty well right now with gas prices what they are. I'm just sayin..... 8) A thousand bucks is a thousand bucks.

Clunk when entering first gear when stopped?

Yeah, same here. And pretty common in the BMW bike world as well. I wouldn't worry about it.

Fuel octane and break-in procedures - just an observation

I find it interesting that when folks are talking about what octane to use in their Spyders, everyone references the manual and says 87 is the way to go. The BRP engineers would have called for higher octane if the Spyder needed it. But when folks ask about break-in procedures, BRP engineers...
