• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone tried brake pads other than OEM &/or EBC? Successfully, or not?

Right. Plus, you really need 4 bleeders, one for the VCM unit also. It's an ABS unit with a brain. You want to get any old fluid that's hiding out in there, also. A little easier to get to on an F3, I believe. And Speed Bleeders sure do make it easy. However, we all have budgets to keep to. Have...

Anyone tried brake pads other than OEM &/or EBC? Successfully, or not?

You might get some ideas from this thread: https://www.spyderlovers.com/threads/alternate-brembo-caliper-pad-part-numbers.131161/ But, the reality is the monetary exchange rate for you, especially when you throw in shipping, taxes, fees, etc. For example, a full set of EBC pads from Ron is...

2012 RT SE5 with repeat Start issues and Brake Failure light showing - any ideas?

1 - It looks like you need a new battery, or at least, get in there and check that the terminal connections are clean and tight. 2 - The brake failure message doesn’t just come on due to low pressure. It is also caused by low level in the reservoir under your seat. You have to have each chamber...

2013 RT SE5 clattering on shifting to reverse or first - Anyone else experience this?

It's most likely the issue addressed by this TST. This is normal, due to the re-design of the SE5 clutch in MY 2013. But, make sure that she is using the correct oil type and keeping the RPMs up while riding and shifting...

Am I looking in the wrong place for Frame and motor numbers? Any advice?

Thank you. I was hoping it would be a little easier. I will take a look this afternoon. What does that number look like? For example, on my insurance paperwork, there is a 17-digit number starting with 2BXN... Would this be the number on the frame? In other words….the frame number and VIN...

Interesting DESS issue - do you think no cell signal or bluetooth caused this, or is it time for a new key?

Because T-Mobile and Verizon use different portions of the radio spectrum, it could be just a new interference issue that you never had before. Maybe. It's extremely rare that a chip in a key goes bad. And the power for the chip comes from the Electromagnetic Field that the antenna ring creates...

Where can I get a Clutch Slave cylinder for a 2014 Spyder RT?

The official BRP line is to replace the cylinder. So, they don’t make a rebuild kit. Haven’t come across an after market one. Not very much demand. I could have sworn I recalled a posting from a number of years ago from someone who had sourced that piston seal locally - from a hydraulic shop or...

Where can I get a Clutch Slave cylinder for a 2014 Spyder RT?

There is no separate transmission fluid. Transmission, engine, wet clutch is all lubricated by the engine oil. Looks like you’ve got some training to do, and that’s ok. Why don’t you download a service manual. Dirt cheap and you’ll have it right away...

    2016 F3-T SM6 with Codes C0063 and C006C - any suggestions?

If the battery voltage is the problem, yes they will reset, possibly without having to ride. But ride anyway. Get the correct rating of battery. Plenty of info here on that. I prefer the Yuasa YTX-24HL. Properly activation charged first, of course. The Yaw sensor on the F3 is way up front there...

    2016 F3-T SM6 with Codes C0063 and C006C - any suggestions?

Maybe reset the table on this, if I may. You have the VCM giving you the universal VSS trouble code (C006C), because it thinks that there is a problem with the Yaw Rate Sensor ( C0063). So, you’ll need to entertain the possibility that you actually do have a problem with the Yaw Rate Sensor...

Where can I get a Clutch Slave cylinder for a 2014 Spyder RT?

Well, if you’re talking about the hydraulic cylinder down on the left side of the engine, it’s referred to as Hydraulic Cylinder. Part number 420498012. But, I think most folks just take it off and replace that o-ring, if you’re having clutch issues. Otherwise, it’s a 200 dollar part, if in stock.

2014 RT Limited Struggling on Starting, then the display goes to vertical lines! Could this be the battery going bad already?

Well, just a final note to you. The word Battery "tender" gets thrown around a lot and is fairly general in nature. But specifically, you can get a basic tender, that simply keeps a constant float charge on the battery. That type will typically kill a battery. Or, you can get a battery...

2014 RT Limited Struggling on Starting, then the display goes to vertical lines! Could this be the battery going bad already?

Vertical lines and the recycle of the display = voltage issue. The struggle of the first revolution pulls the voltage down. What kind of battery, how many CCA, was it properly charged during activation, etc, all play a role in that a 2 year old battery can fail prematurely. You might be able to...

Does anyone have/can share the BRP Emissions data sheet for a 2014 RT?

I can't believe that you are the first person/dealer who has needed to import a Can Am Spyder into New Zealand, and that they don't already know this information. Oh, Ron already said that! A little Googling shows that New Zealand Standards are tied to European Standards. A little more Googling...
