• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. BRP Connect Ver 4.1 is now available for WI-FI download. Improvements to stability and Apple Car Play. After I downloaded and installed it I tried it out. It seems like ACP loaded almost instantly. Very happy about that if it remains so. I was happy with Ver 3.1 and ACP. If Ver 4.1 makes it even better, I'm a fan. Don't know what they mean by stability improvements. time will tell I guess.

I will do the update tomorrow, but 3.1 has been a pain sometimes. It connects ok most of the time, but it's painfully slow. Sometimes it locks up, or drops out etc. I have ridden a little more than 10,000 Km’s with that version, so I'm hoping 4.1 is better…

Update is done, load a lot faster so big improvement, will ride soon…

I've now downloaded and installed the update, and it gave me an odd message about an Audio update when it finished the installation.
It did require me to restart the bike for the update process to complete.

After restarting, I checked the Audio settings and it had switched from "headset" to "speakers", so I switched it back to headset, which is what I've used in the past.

After the restart, it connected quickly to the headset in my helmet, which I had powered on during the restart. As I had previously experienced, I had to plug and unplug my iPhone a couple of times before it recognized that it was plugged into the USB port. Once it "saw" that the iPhone was connected, the CarPlay map of my home came up quickly.

I'll go for a ride tomorrow morning to see how CarPlay works now.

I'm holding my breath on this update. The clock had to be reset, and the screen froze on me twice already this morning. When working properly I've not noticed any real improvement. 3.1 was working so well for me that I hope I don't regret upgrading to 4.1. I am going to trust for now that the upgrade is simply working it's way through all the lines of code and will soon emerge as a great step up in performance and reliability.

I thought I needed to reset my clock but I realized it was the correct time just the time zone was wrong, and I had to reset the audio out to headset.

Did this update last night on my F3. No issues with the install. Had to reset the clock time zone, but audio stayed set on Headset. Hope to see some Bluetooth stability improvements (V3.1 would not stay connected to my phone/would not connect at all to my headset).

Picked up my Spyder from the dealer yesterday after the two year service. The timing of the 4.1 update release was good so that was done (unbelievably, they charged $15 to do so!!! Even though they are very convenient, for that and a couple other reasons, it is probably the last time they will see my bike for service) .

Yes, I had to reset the time zone for the clock - appreciate the heads up from those who tested ahead of me. Initial impression is that ACP may have connected a little more quickly than before. For sure, I can now do phone calls - that is, the voice functions work without being robotic sounding at strange speeds (usually too slow). I haven't had a chance to test with receiving a text message, having that read to me, and then being able to respond with voice commands; but I'm hopeful that will work as well (more likely to be used than a phone call).

So, for me, looks like I have a fully functioning ACP - finally. Of course, time will tell as I get to ride more.

After living with Ver 4.1 now for a few days, I can say that it at least hasn't done any noticeable harm. ACP works just fine. The only change that I have noticed is the time display in the navigation screen. It used to be black numbers on a white background. Now it is white numbers on an orange bubble background. Not easy to read. Whatever else 4.1 did has not been noticeable to me.
My only gripe has to do with the Bluetooth connection between my Cardo Spirit HD headset and the bike. On initial startup before a ride, it connects, then almost immediately disconnects. I have to then either connect them manually, or turn off the bike until the screen goes black, then restart. After that they connect as they are supposed to. I've reached out to Cardo support. Hopefully they will have a fix.

I remember an earlier discussion about the Spyder and Bluetooth versions being an issue.

This says the Spyder uses Bluetooth 5.0 in the section "AM I ABLE TO USE BLUETOOTH HEADPHONES WITH APPLE CARPLAY?"

https://can-am.brp.com/on-road/au/en/discover-can-am/technologies/touchscreen-display/faq.html

The Cardo Spirit HD website says it uses Bluetooth 5.2.

https://cardosystems.com/products/spirit-hd

I use a SENA 3S Plus Boom Microphone Kit installed in my helmet, which uses Bluetooth 5.1. It seems to work fine.

https://www.sena.com/en-us/product/3s-plus-boom/

I asked Googled if there were any connection problems between 5.2 and 5.0 and the generic answer is that 5.2 should be compatible with 5.0.

But then I found a reference to LE Audio:

LE Audio: If you are experiencing issues with audio quality and using LE Audio (a feature of Bluetooth 5.2), try turning off the "Use LE Audio when available" setting on the device with the newer Bluetooth version, if available.

Bluetooth LE Audio is the next generation of Bluetooth audio technology, built on top of Bluetooth Low Energy (LE), offering enhanced audio quality, lower power consumption, and new features compared to the older Bluetooth Classic Audio

I have no idea whether the Cardo Spirt HD uses LE Audio.

Cardo Support was quick to address my concerns and confirmed that I had connected with the correct Bluetooth channel (channel 2). Since the Spirit HD has only 2 channels, channel 1 is used by the intercom with my passenger. Their best bit of advice was to simply do a factory reset which I did. I have connected twice since then without any disconnect issues.
