• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I need a GOOD replacement part! 2012 RT Rear Calliper Part #705600921 - anyone got a line on one?

Am I missing something here? Isn't the 2012 the old BRP style caliper and it just pushes in?
Yup, but when you push it in don't use a clamp like they suggest in the book and use the parking brake shaft as a push point! Ask me how I know that now!

If the parking brake shaft is not rotating all the way in the off position, the caliper piston may not be pushed in all the way and let the pads touch the disc. Check with a Ural dealer for the caliper if you need one. Ural has been using the same caliper for these rear brakes from 2014 to 2020.
That is very interesting, THANK YOU!!! All I got to do is find one of those!! What make and model use the brake and ebrake combo?

All models use the same, just tell them you're looking for the rear brake caliper for a Gear Up. Still sounds like the calipers you have that the parking brake shaft is not fully rotated in the disengaged position.

Yup that's what is happening, and it locks up whenever it wants to and will release when it cools off. You may get 200 miles, or you may go 20 before it wants to go into one of its fits!

Sounds like you may need to one or all these. Parking brake cable has not enough free play for spring on the pulley to return parking brake off. Adjust free play. May need to remove pulley and rotate the shaft to the left until it stops, reinstall pulley, and readjust cable free play.

I have tried all of that. To tell you the truth, when I backed off the adjustment shaft till it didn't drag and set the rest like I should, I thought that was the trick to make my nightmare go away; but guess what - it still happened again! I think when I used the clamp the way I did, that I bent or broke something inside.

I got a salvage part online trying to save a buck, and it came with the old pads and all the gear to mount it up, even the speed sensor came with it. But when I got it in my hands, the old pads were worn down to iron on both sides, and it is working the same way as the one I stove up! I think the guy who had it did the same thing I did!!

So that's why I am looking for a new one! I had the same year bike as my friend, and have had no trouble with my brake repairs and adjustments. I do them by the book and they run fine! These calipers that I have now are not working or adjusting the way they should!

Don’t know what else to say. Have not had ant issues changing pads on the wife’s 2010 RT a couple times or can’t tell how many I’ve changed on my 2015 Ural.

I may be in left field here, But I suspect your rear brake HOSE is collapsing and causing all the trouble. I have run into that 2 or 3 times in the last 50 years.

That may be a valid concern!! Thank you! Even tho when I bleed the brakes it flows just fine, it may have a bad spot!
