• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just taking a minute to say hi to everyone. Been on Spyders for about a year now. On my second one, just picked up a new leftover '23 RT limited. Previously rode a '16 RT-S. Prior to that was 2 wheelers. Still have my 2012 FJR. Think I'm hooked on the Spyders, just so much easier!! Getting lazy in my old age, 62. I'm sure we'll be talking along the way. Ride safe everybody😎😎

62, you are a young kid,

Welcome! Quite the change from an FJR 'rocket ship' to the lounge chair!
I rode an 2012 FJR in Maine (i95 north of Bangor). I had trouble keeping it under 120mph. It just wanted to go 140!:rolleyes:

I feel you about loving the 3 wheels. I am about your age and have a BMW K1600 to go along with my 2021 RTL. My wife also has a 2016 f3L which I actually love riding better than either one of my bikes. Either way, I also feel like I will always have a 3 wheeler.

Thanks for the welcome folks! Hopefully I'll be able to help somebody out sometime. Yeah that FJR is a very different animal! I grab those keys when I need to get somewhere NOW! I bought the 16 RTS cause I wasn't sure it would be for me and didn't want to invest too much. Took some getting used to different riding style but learned to really appreciate 3 wheels. Then saw a deal on the new '23 and decided to upgrade. Planning on this being my retirement toy. Only 600 miles so far but still working 2 weeks on 2 weeks off, so looking forward to days off. Be safe everybody👍👍

Just thought I'd share some findings after the first 5k miles. Went on 3 separate trips with the Spyder. First from home in Oklahoma to South Texas and back pulling lightweight Starlight trailer. Temps over 100 degrees, right at 1200 miles total, no issues whatsoever. Second trip from home to the Louisiana Gulf Coast and back. Just over 1100 miles, again pulling Starlight trailer with temps in the mid/high 90s. No issues. Third trip from home to Southern Minnesota, Western Wisconsin, then back South to home. Again pulling the Starlight. Total 2200 miles on this trip. Absolutely no issues! I love this bike!! Only issue is my rear tire (original Kenda) is now slick in the middle with just over 6k miles. Ran recommended pressure the entire time. Not impressed. Not to worry. Already have it's replacement on hand. Going with the Altimax RT45.

I also still have my FJR. I got mine back in 2008 (purchased it new) when I retired as a retirement present to myself. It's an excellent ride, been on many long distance rides. But since I've developed arthritis in my hip, I've had to re-think what I can sit on for long periods of time. Giving up riding is not an option, so now I have a '22 RTL.

@Gnsgn1, good choice, although really pretty much anything will be better than those Kendas. You might want to replace the front Kendas at the same time. Ask BaJaRon for tire pressures and welcome to forum
