• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Just finished installing my Prime Big Deal Days goodies:
  • 1.25" handlebar riser: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DNYZDSWY
    • $53.59 before tax
    • Seems like a perfect fit for me, but haven't taken a ride to test it yet. Bolts aren't stainless. Riser block came marred up, but at areas not in view. Extending the bundle of cables for the left controls was Fun.
  • Upper adjustable air deflectors: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B49DLYKL
    • $35.92 before tax
    • Feels cheap. Has 3 positions, but there's quite a bit of play in all positions. Can hit the body when you're adjusting 'em.
  • Lower adjustable air deflectors: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B499C6TS
    • $35.92 before tax
    • Also feels cheap, but at least the 3 positions on this one doesn't scrape up your body panels.

Final checks on the 2021 RTL. We are heading up to Maggie Valley for 5 days of riding and relaxing. I installed the center light and luggage rack about 2 weeks ago. Today I am double checking the fluids and air pressure. Weather is looking great, all except for possible rain on the first 50 miles of riding West towards the mountains for the Raleigh area. Going to swing over to Harbor Freight and pick up a small tarp to wrap my luggage that will be riding on the Doc Humphries rack. Also charged up the battery jump box, light, air compressor combo. It is an item that you hope you never need, but glad to have with you. I hadn't charged it since the cross country trip in May/June, and it was still 3 out of 4 bars strong.

I live in Franklinton, just North of Raleigh.

Since I replaced my rear tire a couple weeks ago I wasn't sure if I had the belt to tight. I finally got around to checking it using the Krikit tool with the rear wheel off the ground and I was at 165 ft lbs so I'm ready to ride again.

Why not just put the whole bike on the lift?

I needed to get at the sway bar that is inside the crossmember lift points you are using on the front of the trike. There’s the belly pans/skid plates to remove, sway bar bushings, and stiffener through bolts that are in there too, which I had to access, and remove. Nice to see though that the Spyder can be lifted your way for all sorts of other maintenance. Tires, brakes, oil changes, etc!

Made me a stud (basically cut the head off of a spare stainless bolt) to install a shorty antenna. Reception is as good as stock, and even better than my previous 7" aluminum lump of junk.

Rode it to Delafield WI. Stopped for a sandwich at The Lumber Inn. A guy and his wife came up to me in the parking lot and they mentioned Rob’s Performance and SOAR (Spyder Owners And Riders). I asked them if they knew a person I won’t name. They replied "oh ya, from Peawaukee." I’m like, "Yep, this used to be that persons bike." Small world. Rode home and de-bugged the bike! 😂
