• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Check out this Rock on the road!

Only making a guesstimation from your photos, but it seems like you must have been going close to MOC2, making it an unavoidable hit. I'm always looking for sh** like this, and years of experience have taught me to slow down and pay attention. Running a 2-wheeler, as opposed to a 3-wheeler, makes avoiding impacts almost a completely different reaction for each machine. Being on a 3-wheeler, the thought of road rash isn't so much on my mind as how much $$$ this one is gonna end up costing me this time. LOL

It was on a 45 MPH road and we were not speeding. I passed over it close to the left wheel. In this picture you can see that he took a hit just a ways out from the center frame. It bent the radiator support which is removed in this photo, the frame piece that is bolted and welded to main frame is bent up also. You can see the damage to that in this photo. So short story long, Jerry and I learned how to remove the frunk!

When my turn comes, I hope it's no worse than your experience was. Parts can be shipped overnight, but skin grows back slowly.

It must've been a windy day to blow that rock on the road like that. :) Going from many years of riding a two wheeler to the Spyder, it has taken some time to get used to avoiding road hazards. Whenever possible, rather than trying to line up my front wheel and one of the rear wheels so that it passes between them, I will cross into the oncoming lane if I have visibility ahead.

There was on coming traffic.

Although not as severe as your hit, I couldn’t avoid a sizeable rock on a Kansas State Hwy. Not speeding, following behind a truck at a fairly safe distance interval, no shoulder, and oncoming traffic equaled an unavoidable impact. Shattered the front, lower plastic part and destroyed the mesh, but no other damage. In 15 years on Spyders, it was a first time event. It happens.

Well in May of 2024 I hit a German Shepherd in California and it did $5525 damage to the the Champagne 2018 I was locating from Az to Wa. Price to fix it was high as the Champagne panels were not available. Stop leak worked for the right hand radiator and I finished the 6 day bucket list ride I was on. BTW, I ran the rock just inside the left front tire without damage. Jerry, behind me, took the damage noted in this thread.
