Any Suggestions for new Riding Footwear?

I had to retire my Milwaukee Leather boots after too many years to remember. I tried Keen leather work boots, but comfort wasn't there. I found the brand "Brunt" work boot. 6" leather boot, so comfortable, I can wear them to walk the dog in, so they are great for hikes off the bike. I used beeswax to "waterproof" them, but still wear the rain overboots if we are goign to get soaked.

Oh no, the ATGATT police will arrest you! Lol

If I'm not comfortable in the mind (extremely important) I won't ride until that's resolved.
If I get on my F3S and my riding gear is not comfortable for the temp I will definitely not go ATGATT. I usually am pretty close, but in the summer I feel the most comfortable in sneakers, jeans, T-shirt, and armored jacket of some type, and always gloves and the brain bucket.
I'm wearing sneakers the majority of the time now because my ankle is fused, so I can't use the foot brake very good if I'm wearing a shoe (or boots, generally) that limit the range of motion of my foot. It's real scary when you need to brake and your foot won't rise up enough or slide over to the brake pad during a panic stop. It still happens on occasion. I always wear dedicated boots when traveling long distances, which lately I don't do a lot of. I've ridden like this since the 60's and I'm still riding.
So the ATGATT Police need not bother me. Lol
A side note, I had to wear Hightop steel toe boots for 22 years in the military, and my feet still long for a comfortable sneaker on a ride.

Just leave the flip flops at home

I love Alpinestars waterproof boots. Very comfortable, lots of protection good for walking I too. They ain't cheap but they last, I've had em last for 8-10 years.

I have had good luck with tourmaster waterproof boots and have walked in them well. Next time I may buy the shorter version as my riding britches are longer now with an elastic cuff waterproof membrane. I too believe in the ATGATT advice that saved my skin in a crash 6 years years ago but not from a broken tibial plateau and ankle. Hence riding a Spyder and no longer a bagger harley... leg won't allow it anymore. I don't regret the shift to 3 wheels at all. I'm now 68.
