• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any Mounting bracket and switched power tips for mounting a Garmin Zumo XT2 GPS?

I like my Zumos mounted just below my normal riding field of view and slightly to the left (we drive on the left in the UK).
I am quite tall and it takes too much time to look down, refocus, then look up, and refocus again if the satnav is below dash level.

I posted a write-up here https://spyderlovers.com/threads/rtl-2021-satnav-install-on-fairing-above-the-dash.165909/
But if anyone wants more info, I have lots of photos to bore you with!!

Power comes from the tiny accessory connector plugged into a blank socket somewhere just ahead of the brake fluid reservoir. I used that to trigger a relay to provide fused power to heated jackets, on board camera, and my satnav.

I wish to thank all for your responses on my quest for a GPS mount. After several months of procrastination, along with a fair amount of research, I finally addressed the subject and made a decision, which would not have been possible without the help I received from this Forum. My Lamonster mount, Plug-n-Play Harness, and Zumo Security Lock are on their way and should arrive in a couple of days! :)

Latest SNAFU on this GPS and mount. Two days before departing on my first Spyder cross country trip, the dealer hooked up the harness and I attached the GPS, thinking that all was well, but unfortunately that was not the case.

Bottom line: yesterday, my son pinpointed the problem, the wiring polarity was somehow reversed! He reversed the wiring on the Harness connectors and now, finally, all is well!

I'm posting this in case someone else has encountered a problem getting their GPS to Light Up when the ignition switch is turned on.

I used the mount from Lamonster and their wiring. They do say that the polarity could be backwards. Thanks to Can AM.
Luck to me, it worked the first time.
