• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Looking for new Comms - what do you use?

I think I upgraded to the 20s a few years back. I don't have a freezing cold weather need for it (I hibernate in winter, wuss that I am), but I'd like to look into something less finicky and feature-laden.

Planning a Pacific Coast Highway trip - looking for suggestions

I realize this is too late for your trip, but it may be of value to others thinking of doing the same. I would trailer directly to Oregon. The ride from Denver to Oregon will take up too much of your riding time. The trip from Salt Lake City to Oregon is miserable desert highway no matter which...

Looking for new Comms - what do you use?

Good info, Deanna. You and Peter Aawen both seem to think they're superior to the Senas (which I'm beginning to dislike)

What did you do to/with your Spyder today?

Got it. I changed the post.

I've gone from ATGATT to H (just Helmet).

Yes, I have. I broke my elbow. That was in the 70s before affordable armored protective gear was commonly available as it is now. I'm definitely ATGATT on 2-wheelers. Thank you for that. I too am looking to continue and contribute to an interesting discussion, not impose my opinions on others...

I've gone from ATGATT to H (just Helmet).

So, you believe those accidents are just as likely on a Spyder as on a 2-wheeler? I still don't understand your reasoning. I'm not questioning your preferences, just your reasoning. Thanks. I think in that (extremely unlikely) scenario, the Spyder would be pushed off course and possibly...

I've gone from ATGATT to H (just Helmet).

Other than the helmet, how does armored riding gear protect a Spyder rider from severe impact? I don't understand your reasoning.

I've gone from ATGATT to H (just Helmet).

How would armored jacket and pants protect you in a crash? Armored gear is designed for protection falling off or sliding down the road, not severe impact with another large object. Please explain how a Spyder is just as dangerous as a motorcycle, in your opinion. Otherwise your crash...

Squared Away has a new Red Rock Canyon On order! Post up if you have one coming too!?

How did this turn out for Joe and Ann? It's been a while since I've heard from or about them.

What did you do to/with your Spyder today?

We used to winter in Yuma; where are you?

What did you do to/with your Spyder today?

It used to be just the very cold conditions that limited my riding. Now, increasingly, it's the heat, and it doesn't seem to matter whether it's dry heat or wet heat; they're both miserable and dangerous.

Do you get wet riding in the rain?

From Google; Rukka Armacor refers to high-end motorcycle textile garments (such as jackets and pants) built using Armacor - a high-tech, tear and abrasion resistant fabric blend combining Cordura and Kevlar (aramid) fibers laminated directly with a waterproof Gore-Tex membrane. Material &...

Finally gonna finish my 48 State tour!

There are so many great places to ride out there on the East Coast. Getting there from here is a daunting prospect right now, but that's all in the mind, right?

I should have known that, but it's been decades since I was out there in VA/MD

Spyder vs Gold Wing Reverse Trike - anyone have experience?

I would have traded in my RTL for a Nikken, just for the superior dealer and service network, if nothing else. Loved my 2008 Yamaha 1300, but needed the stability of a 3-wheeler, so got the 2014 RTL at a local dealer, which shortly thereafter dropped the Spyder line.

I want Spyder/Ryker/Canyon dealerships to succeed

Where do you go now, Paul?

I want Spyder/Ryker/Canyon dealerships to succeed

I think that small, locally owned (and managed) dealerships are probably better at customer service than the corporate behemoths that dominate the Spyder landscape. The latter, I think, tend to have more of a bottom line, short term profit-taking mentality. I don't know if there's any way to...
