• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Rewaco is back

Designed as a trike, not an add-on to a bike. German engineering. If I was interested in a trike, I'd consider it over any others. But, I'm not.

Can Am - Great Ideas vs. Poor Execution. What are your thoughts?

I just think that it's the people in the C-suite that make those decisions, not the designers, engineers, accountants and production managers who also cringe at being part of making something that could be so much better. I really hate to see good, hard-working wage slaves get blamed for...

Can Am - Great Ideas vs. Poor Execution. What are your thoughts?

Well, that's interesting. I stand corrected. The Can-Am engineers are incompetent nincompoops. What will they think of next?

Can Am - Great Ideas vs. Poor Execution. What are your thoughts?

Have they failed? Are they causing issues? Why is this "engineers cutting corners to save money"?

Can Am - Great Ideas vs. Poor Execution. What are your thoughts?

Yeah, I get the picture. When you don't understand why industry isn't producing the outdated product you lust after, blame government regulations.

Getting under the hood... of a 998 V-Twin powered Spyder??

Actually, Mike, now that I understand what O.P. is doing (trying to ensure his new to him used Spyder is in good shape mechanically) I'm inclined to agree with you. Spark plug replacement is one of the most challenging (and expensive) routine maintenance jobs on any Spyder, and there are many...

Can Am - Great Ideas vs. Poor Execution. What are your thoughts?

The only ones who can afford to accept no compromises in a machine, it seems, is the US military, and that comes at a horrendous monetary cost. Have you priced a Patriot missile lately?

Garmin 550 not recognized by Garmin Express, but does charge - any ideas?

Have you tried doing a factory reset on it? It's possible the device is faulty. Sometimes a factory reset will work and sometimes not. I also had a 660 I bought used and I never could get it to recognize the memory card in order to load bigger maps. I finally bought a used XT, which has been...

Can Am - Great Ideas vs. Poor Execution. What are your thoughts?

Name 2 instances of "engineers cutting corners to hold down the price". I don't think engineers do that. I think they design the optimum solution and then accounting costs that out, and Marketing figures out what the final machine will sell for. If the C-suite demands a greater gross profit...

Can Am - Great Ideas vs. Poor Execution. What are your thoughts?

Either you believe the free market system produces the best product at the lowest price, or you don't. Engineers, marketers, accountants and lawyers are just playing their respective roles in that system. No villains to see here folks.

Garmin 550 not recognized by Garmin Express, but does charge - any ideas?

You probably know this already Paul. There are USB charging cables that only charge, and there are USB data cables that also charge (slowly). Be sure you have the latter (although I would think your Garmin cable does both).

Have you noticed Sirius XM song selections are messed up?

Sirius came built in to our truck. But after the teaser period they wanted to jack is us up to a $200/month premium plan with streaming. We only use it for NPR and a few C&W stations when we're on long trips, so I tried canceling. They offered me a one-year rate of about $75 that would...
