• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone else notice the number of low mileage used Spyders on Marketplace? Any ideas why?

I always wanted a Norton 850 Commando. Add that to my list of things that I never got around to owning.

Spyder vs Gold Wing Reverse Trike - anyone have experience?

I have to smile with your description. I've told this story before, but to me, it never gets old. Husband and wife come into the shop. Husband rides a Harley, wife is on a Spyder. Husband says, a little preturbed, "She can't keep up with the group. We're always waiting on her when we ride the...

Anyone else notice the number of low mileage used Spyders on Marketplace? Any ideas why?

I hated my 1st Spyder for about 500 miles. If it had not been for Lamont, I'm sure I would have gotten rid of it. It takes a person committed to mastering the difference between a reverse trike and 2 wheels to break through the learning curve to the awesome experience that can be had with the...

    Conventional vs Reverse Trike Discussion

I must say, I can see this being true. Adding more roll in turns (which a true independent suspension would do) would also change rake and trail in front. Probably not for the better. Things could get very dicey. I have to think that Harley has experimented with it and just maybe decided it...

    Conventional vs Reverse Trike Discussion

The conventional trike pictured is a Goldwing conversion. The diagram pictured almost looks like a lawnmower engine to me. It might have been a DIY kit. I had no particular reason for either picture other than they were the first ones I found and they seemed to be good representations of the...

Are Spyders becoming popular, or not?

Training is fine. But the Spyder is such a different animal from pretty much everything else, taking into consideration the different models and all the changes BRP has made to them over the years (some subtle, some not so subtle). It requires that a person work on them a lot if they are to get...

    Conventional vs Reverse Trike Discussion

I've been putting this off because I didn't want to speak too soon. But I have always been impressed with the group of ryders that gather here. Some of the credit goes to the moderators as well, because there are always weeds that spring up in the garden (I myself have gotten on the wrong side...

    Conventional vs Reverse Trike Discussion

You got that right! Didn't take very long either. You don't have to go to college to know when something doesn't work!

    Conventional vs Reverse Trike Discussion

We get inquiries about exactly what the advantages and disadvantages of the two basic trike configurations are. Not to bash anyone's ride. Especially the Goldwing and Harley versions, as I know there is a large fan base with many who love them. But I can assure you that physics has no dog in...

Is anyone else having Issues logging on?

I know, but there wasn't much to work with there. So, I inflated and exaggerated the original statement to a more interesting level of discussion. The news media does it all the time. I'm just trying to keep up with current trends... No one seems to notice when they do it. But I suppose I...

Is anyone else having Issues logging on?

Excellent catch (Pun intended) Catch 22 references a WWII military rule that created a paradox. In which if a pilot wanted to avoid dangerous combat missions, they were able to file for a mental evaluation to prove they were insane. But the military considered the act of filing as evidence that...

Is anyone else having Issues logging on?

If someone is not able to log on, how are they going to be able to respond to this thread? It's like a 'Hot Water Heater'. If your water is already hot, why do you need to heat it?

HowTo: Install a BajaRon Swaybar on a 2013+ Spyder ST/RS/RSS

The slit in the bushing needs to be completely closed below the bar. If there is any gap at all, this will create a clunk after a few hundred miles. The material we use is self lubricating and quite bullet proof. They should last the life of the bike. Red Arrows indicate Bushing Bolt & Proper...

Is this Ryker Handle Bar Jiggle normal on lousy roads?

Going from the stock (just over 14") front shocks to the 17.75" (400mm) set is going to raise your front end (DUH) and change your alignment. When making that much of a change, you really need to get the front end laser aligned to get proper steering back. Having said this, the Ryker has no...

HowTo: Install a BajaRon Swaybar on a 2013+ Spyder ST/RS/RSS

As Mikey states, the bushings are different. Though we've never had a bushing wear out (unless you grease them). They can be replaced without removing the bar. People replace them because they develop a clunk. But this is because the bushing bolt is not tightened sufficiently. If the bushing is...

How do the newer upgrade Kenda tires compare with the old model Kenda tires?

They are all 'Car Tires'. The difference is in the quality of materials and construction.

    ST Longest Ride Ever

When you get hot, just ride fast enough so that the heat is the least of your concerns.... Works for me! Also helped me keep up with Lamont.

2012 RT - Anyone have an idea of the Cost of a New Belt, Installed?

As Peter states, the drive belt on the Spyder may be the most overkill component on the machine. I've seen belts with up to a 3/8" gravel punched hole go for ever. Frayed edge belts from running hard on a pulley flange do the same. There are some parameters. The rubber needs to be in good shape...

    ST Longest Ride Ever

I think everyone remembers their longest ride. Lamont & I - 27 hours from Albuquerque, New Mexico to Greeneville, TN. Over 1,400 miles. Stock seat on my 2008 GS. Lamont called it 'The Football'.
