• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    I got clotheslined!

Yesterday morning while riding to work it was very windy. Without any warning, all of a sudden there was a power line hanging down in front of me. There was no time to react. The road has a 45 mph speed limit, and my gps recorded I was doing 49 mph. I saw the wire a split second before it hit my...

Curious if others have had battery issues with newer OEM Batteries?

Yes. The Haijiu batteries that are now standard from the factory are junk. BRP only warranty's them for 6 months. I had one friend that flew from NC to PA to buy a new 2023 F3L, and the battery died on the ride back to NC.

Is this the VSS not working? Anyone experienced it before? What came of it?

Everything Peter said above, and also, being a SM6 model, don't forget that popping the clutch while turning will generate a wheelie!!

New Spyder sold with no factory warranty - is this right? What say you all?

What's done is done. Since it's a leftover 2023 model, be prepared to replace the battery soon. There's a reason they only warranty them for 6 months. Other than that, be prepared to really enjoy riding your new Spyder!!

RT driver view 13-19 vs 20-25

You owe it to yourself to try one. I had a 2015 RTL and currently have a 2020RTL. The biggest change, in my opinion, is the seating/riding position.

Is there any way to keep the windshield up instead of raising it each ride?

Not sure about 2024, but 2020-2023 RT's the windshield will return to the last position it was in when the bike was turned off. It will move to the lowest position at shutdown.

Where can I get a 2010 RT parking brake cable? Any other options?

The 2010 RT parking brake adjustment is done through the rear parking brake pulley. It is splined. If the proper adjustment can't be made, you remove the pulley and move it one spline at a time until proper adjustment is met. Check the service manual for the procedure.

New keys, maintenance, and upgrade items, etc. Any tips/advice?

To answer your question, NO you cannot program an original BRP key yourself without BUDS. With BUDS it's a very simple procedure as long as you have an original key. Anyone that can accurately cut a key can cut a new BRP key to turn in the lock barrels. Also, in order to disable the security...

    What maintenance tasks are proprietary?

I have BUDS with the Mechantronic license. I'm also an independent Spyder mechanic. I'm not aware of any maintenance tasks that are "coded". As many have stated above, there are tasks that require BUDS to do correctly/thoroughly. There are numerous troubleshooting tasks that require special...

First time installing battery in a 1330 - couldn't get top bracket right!

In the future, when you remove the battery, take piece of tape and secure the bracket in place before you put the battery back in. Then you can just remove the tape and lower the bracket down onto the battery and attach the rubber bungee.
