• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone know anything about BUDS1 OBD diagnostics units & availability?

BUDS is the software. The interface module simply allows your computer to communicate with the Spyder. So if you get the interface module, you can run either BUDS or BUDS2.

Mounting a tire on my Spyder - things I'll verify

I've done numerous rear tire changes on Spyders. The easiest method to preserve belt alignment and tension is to simply tape from the top of the swingarm around the back of the adjusters, and to the bottom of the swingarm on both sides BEFORE you remove the axle bolt. This way the adjusters...

Is it possible to re-flash the Instrument Cluster firmware?

Starting with the 2024 models, updates could be downloaded and installed over wifi. From the 2017-2023 model years updates are only possible through BUDS2. Prior to 2016 models, BUDS is used to diagnose, service, and update the various systems. Any software/firmware updates for model years prior...

Is it possible to re-flash the Instrument Cluster firmware?

It IS possible but you may have a hard time getting the firmware file. It will probably have to be obtained from a dealer. This is because as a retail customer of BUDS, you do not have access to the Can Am in-house support system, called "Bossweb". If you have the most current version of BUDS...

Installing Rear view/backup camera - what wire & where to trigger it?

Here's the Innovv N1 Pro on a 2021 F3. I only captured the startup screen to protect the owners' privacy, but it is a full Apple Car Play and Android Auto unit, plus dashcam that can be used as a backup camera.

It's nice to hear about a dealer doing the right thing for a change!

Installing Rear view/backup camera - what wire & where to trigger it?

Rather than mess with the bikes' wiring, why not consider installing a system such as the Innovv N1Pro? This is a dashcam system that also gives you Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, AND can be used as a rearview camera display. I've installed this system on a 2021 F3L, and it works very well...

My very old Garmin GPS is not usable in sunlight, will newer ones work better?

Check out the For Sale section here. There is at least one Zumo XT2 for sale. One even comes with a Kradellock. I have the Zumo XT2 on my RTL and it is very much sunlight readable and waterproof. One of the features I really like is the ability to download what they call Birds Eye imagery. It...

Just had my 1st service done - they used 4T 0W40 synthetic oil - anyone else?

It's Can Am oil, just wrong viscosity for a Spyder engine/transmission.

The common point for CANBUS issues is the cluster. Check the connectors on the cluster. ECM is located on the left side below the mirror.

F3T died rapidly after sitting 2 months, now no start - any suggestions?

Drain the fuel, put in a tank of fresh non-ethanol fuel. Give it time to get through the filter, lines, & injectors. I think you'll solve your problem. The fuel may only be 2 months old to you, but how long might it have been sitting in the gas stations' tank?

Looking for info/advice from those who have RT Replacement Shocks...

I have the Elka Stage 2's in all 3 positions and love them! If you go with other shocks most vendors will want a lot of info about weight and type/skills of riding. That said, they will get you into the ballpark of ride settings. Don't be afraid to tweak their default settings until you get them...

What are these 'extra wires' hanging out the back of my Spyder?? Your Thoughts?

Those are Positaps on the ends of the wires. They are absolutely NOT part of any original wiring or Can Am accessory wiring. Some previous owner must have had some accessory installed, most likely lighting. judging by their location, check to see if your right side saddlebag has the original...

2016 Spyder RT-S has a misfire and dumping gas. No codes, uses gas very quickly.

If you ran it with the frunk removed, then you also must have had the connector removed for the air temp sensor. Doesn't make computer happy.

Anyone got a valid reason for the High Torque settings on the brake rotor?

I don't have a problem reusing those bolts as long as the threads are not damaged and you clean out all the old thread locking compound. Also not a bad idea to run a tap through the holes to clean the mating threads out also.

How to disable DESS using BUDS? Any Step-by-Step Procedures?

I (and a few others I know of) will normally charge $50 to do a BUDS/BUDS2 scan, which "could" include disabling DESS.
