• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Got Limp & Codes U0073, U0122, U0100, C0060, P0556, P0504, U0101, U0128, U0295, U0303

The fault codes you listed point to CANBUS and VCM related issues. So what happened with your Spyder from the last time you rode it until this morning for how many miles until Limp Mode? Perhaps you washed it? Also battery voltage is "good" does not appear on my model of DVOM. What model of DVOM...

Is there a Code Reader for the Spyder?

megagame has done some amazing things with the Spyder's CANBUS. His work is worth studying carefully. He published his CANBUS message analysis. I believe the PDF is from Roger's work.

Is there a Code Reader for the Spyder?

The adapter mates to the Deutsch DB6 CAN connector on the Spyder. I've made my own. The CANBUS messages are quite easy to read although BRP seems intent on running the 500kHz bus at capacity.:D The problem, at least for pre-2020 machines, is while the messages comply with the OBD standard...

What lights will work with the Can-bus system? How do I know?

There is no direct connection between the brake light switch and CANBUS (it's via the ECM). There is no direct connection between the cruise control switch and CANBUS (it's via the left-hand switch). If you do not have a diode blocking a signal from your LED brake light and the brake light...

What lights will work with the Can-bus system? How do I know?

It's not a CANBUS issue it's a brake lights issue. Do a search for "diode".

    Two Oil Observations ... I think ...

I think you saw what you saw -- the oil was darker. I've noticed when I replace the HCM filter the oil in various crevices and cavities is darker than elsewhere and it wasn't a matter of thickness. I think particles are settling out before the oil drains back into the engine crankcase. Your...

Any alternatives for Discontinued Fuel Injectors for 2009 GS SM5?

Do you have the injectors in hand? Examine them closely they may have a Bosch part number. I have a number of parts from eBay and most of them included the Bosch part number. Having said that some of the Bosch parts cannot be purchased retail only by BRP. Used injectors on eBay (you might...

2016 Spyder RT-S has a misfire and dumping gas. No codes, uses gas very quickly.

The "TPS/throttle body" Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) is a 6-position connector. You will need to up your game if you want to continue digging into your wiring like this. While most connections are mismate-safe there are opportunities for errors.

2016 Spyder RT-S has a misfire and dumping gas. No codes, uses gas very quickly.

If the wire colors are GY/BG, BK, GY/GN they are your fog lights.

    Yesterday Codes C0040 & C006C; Today Codes P061E & P0504! What's up with today's?

It isn't your battery it's your brake system. What's its service history?

2016 Spyder RT-S has a misfire and dumping gas. No codes, uses gas very quickly.

A few years ago, I purchased my 2014 RT-S SE6 with 77K miles. I was the third owner. I was smart enough to not bother asking about the service history. It doesn't matter what the previous owners tell you. You assess the machine as it is and as you want it to be. I wanted trouble-free operation...

2015 RTL Hazards Stopped Working - anything else to try?

Yeah, you've pretty much isolated the fault to the Hazard button. Try this as next step: with the engine running, press and hold the Hazard button. Do the turn indicators flash? If Yes, then the wiring is good and the button locking function failed. If No, then it could be wiring or it could be...

Dreaded parking brake locked and clicks only!

The click is coming from the WPM which contains four relays, two for the windshield and two for the parking brake, driving the two bi-directional motors: windshield (WM) and parking brake (PM). The PB microswitch (HBS) provides a ground to both the WPM and instrument cluster when closed. The...

Any ideas on what this intermittent check engine light might mean?

I too occasionally see the short flash of the Engine lamp when upshifting while riding hard. I think it's just an elderly machine (mine's at 96K) fussing at us for having fun.:D

Right Fog light out.. no power - any plug that could undo??

Sometimes the pin retainers in the AMP SuperSeal connectors don't retain the pin which then backs out when the connectors are manipulated. Try pushing all the pins into the connectors, preferably with needle nose pliers.

2015 RT Ltd idling rough, no code displayed - any ideas?

HEGO (Heated Exhaust Gas Oxygen) is the legacy 4-wire single chamber O2 sensor your (and my) Spyder uses. The current dual chamber O2 sensor (I don't know if Spyders have them) is 5-6 wire UEGO. I know you've tried Seafoam but next try BajaRon's technique...

2015 RT Ltd idling rough, no code displayed - any ideas?

How does it respond to throttle while in Neutral? At what rpm does the roughness go away? How does it respond to throttle while moving in 1st? At what rpm does the roughness go away? When did you first (date, mileage) did you first notice this roughness? Interesting that you checked the...
