• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2015 Can Am Spyder F3 - Needs a new engine!

Scott -- you posted: "I have had scooters for some time" I assume you are referring to motorcycles in the vernacular. With this experience and a nine-year old Spyder you really should read the Owner's Manual and purchase a Service Manual before pushing the Start button. "Oil was good" You...

    2019 RTL won't shift up (fixed'ish - only now it's un-fixed again!)

I agree with Pegasus -- most likely LHS failure. If you're not on warranty I would attempt the Pirate fix. The LHS signals are sent via CANBUS to the TCM, console, etc modules interested in them. The CANBUS is fairly robust but can be interfered with by electrical system changes including...

Is there any place that sells Used parts for Spyders? Salvage yards/junkyards maybe?

Look for eBay sellers offering parts from model years compatible with yours. Then contact them directly to ask if they have the part of interest. They often don't list all their takeoff parts but have them on the shelf if someone asks.

What experiences have you had with Lithium Batteries?

Do not use a Lithium-Ion traction battery! For your Spyder use a LiFePo4 (LFX) starter battery (eg Shorai and several others). If damaged the LFX chemistry is safer than a FLA/SLA battery (won't spill acid, won't catch on fire) although it has higher internal resistance than the Lithium-Ion...

    Hydraulic housing failure clutch

I'm having difficulty understanding this: The SE6 clutch is ENGAGED with HCM oil pressure. Per the Service Manual Are you saying after shifting into 1st, the Spyder does not move forward as you increase throttle? Or are you saying the Spyder does not shift easily from N to 1st? Next...

    Can-Am Service Manual - '23 F3-S Not super inclusive.

Joystick is that circular knob above the +/- volume paddle? How curious -- two UI devices to perform the same function. When I removed the radio I also removed the speakers. And the only button I push in what BRP calls the RECC cluster is Mode so I can proceed with starting the engine. I'm...

    Can-Am Service Manual - '23 F3-S Not super inclusive.

Nope I don't understand. You have a volume control on the LHS but it doesn't control volume. So how do you control volume? Here's one problem: every CANBUS message the LHS/MSL transmits (at 10Hz or greater rate) contains the On/Off state of all switches. Two bytes of the message are Bosch...

    Can-Am Service Manual - '23 F3-S Not super inclusive.

Thinking this through it seems likely bro's F3 model has a volume adjustment, not on the LHS but in some location 'X'. And other F3 models have the volume adjustment on the LHS. Some questions: 1. Do the other F3 models have the volume adjustment in both location 'X' and the LHS? 2. Is the...

Peter -- still not understanding this. Are you saying BRP installed a radio without a functional volume adjustment?

Don't Be Fooled! Looking at you DOES NOT mean they SEE you!

Maybe members didn't read the driving vision article I linked to. Clearly explains why we don't "see" what should be obvious. It's like the difference between hearing and listening.

    Can-Am Service Manual - '23 F3-S Not super inclusive.

Peter-still not understanding what bro wants done/function performed when switch is pressed. This is an important question Anyway I explained CANBUS messages. Regarding electrical access I recommend diagnostic port which is probably a Deutsch DT6 like mine. Only two pins needed, Can High and...

    Can-Am Service Manual - '23 F3-S Not super inclusive.

I'm not understanding this. What do you want the switch to do? Be that as it may, the LHS/MSL puts out a 340h CANBUS message at 10Hz or more with the state (On or Off) off every LHS/MSL and CC switch position with the exceptions you noted above. For instance Byte 3: 01h=LT 02h=RT 04h=CT. Only...

To Choose a Blind Spot Mirror or a Blind Spot Detector - or Both?

This BSD https://www.ebay.com/itm/225722972751 claims to provide the two-stage LCA you want. Steady LCA on approach with beeping when you engage your turn signal for that lane. However the documentation is conflicted about the RCW function. It's complicated but I believe this is the MT-05...

Any reputable places to download OEM Service Manual?

The Innovv products are excellent design and quality. A member here (Latrappe) is looking at the K5 and considering the ThirdEYE. I purchased a ThirdEYE but it's complicated. There is an ambiguity between concurrent LCA and RCW. I have suggested to Innovv that RCW be distinguished with...

Any reputable places to download OEM Service Manual?

broderp -- building jumper harnesses so you don't have to use wire taps is an excellent approach to ensure the integrity of the Spyder electronics. I can't speak to your generation of Spyders but mine uses AMP SuperSeal and Deutsch DT in many of the point of interest. For other connectors I...

Are there any other reputable brands of Oxygen Sensor that work?

If you have an HEGO (4-wire) then you can splice in an NGK, Bosch, etc. If you have a UEGO (6-wire) the sensor-side connector contains the calibration resistor so you can't splice in another sensor without losing calibration. In most cases if you remove the sensor you can see faintly stamped...
