• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Technical Service Bulletin

Trip?????? These service bulletins continue to reinforce my worry about taking the SE5 Spyder on a trip. How can BRP let these go on sale with so many flaws? If I travel 600 miles up to Monterey, and the Spyder brakes down, it's not like hauling a motorcycle home---getting one of these home...

    Several Questions

Risers and Windshield I'm tall and the build of the Spyder seat in relation to the foot pegs and foot brake pushes me a bit too much forward---I think being 5'3" would be about perfect for sitting on and operating the Spyder SE5, which is what I have. I installed the 4" risers that can be...

    1930s Technoloogy ??

I have to admit that my '08 Spyder SE5, since getting the replacement oil pressure spring, has run well---shifting and all----but I get this feeling that I'm riding on a potential problem or breakdown---giving me very little comfort in taking my trip in the next few weeks. After having owned...

    Oil Leak

Thanks, Guys---------- I'll try and check it out----can all the plastic underneath be taken off?

    Oil Leak

Before I had the new spring in stalled on my SE5, the engine was dry with no signs of an oil leak---now, after the new spring was installed to improve the shifting, I notice a couple small oil spots on the garage floor----it is a bit wet underneath on the left side---no really big leak, but wet...

    BRP on the Horn!

Lets Hire Him If all the members of this forum would pay $50 per month for Lamonster to serve as the "Spyder Ombudsman/Representative" he could provide a lot of help "taking problems" to Dealer and BRP reps-----could cover required mechanical changes---etc---etc........

    Warping Instrument Cluster

Good Advice ........I appreciate your giving us this information----I live in Southern California where it gets really hot at times. I wonder if some kind of cover for the intrament panels will help. I have the tinted F1 slider windshield from Marcel in Florida----that may help----but I think...

    Front Pegs

IF............. they were rigid and solidly fixed, and if you hit an object, like a 2X4 on the road, the front pegs would get hit and throw the bike and you, wrecking everything----they are sprung so they will fold back in case something is hit------on a curve, when leaning, the pegs will fold...

    SE5 Owners

Call Performance Motorsports The part number is 420238845---this is a major spring in the electronic shifting mechanism---it's longer and stronger than the original---made a 100% difference in my SE5 shifting. They covered it under warranty on my 2008---I'm sure they can tell you the...

New Oil Pressure Spring ....did you get the new, longer and stronger oil pressure spring (on recall) installed? I got mine done today, and it made a great difference---almost perfect now....

    SE5 Owners

Today, I had the "recall" completed on my SE5---they installed a new, longer and stronger oil pump spring, and it took them about 2 hours. This made a major difference in the gear-shifting process---it shifts without the jerking, hesitations; instead, this SE% is smooth, quick, and efficient...

Carrying a Jack for Tire Repairs

Has anyone had a flat tire while traveling on a Spyder? A floor jack will work at home, but what about on the road? I measured from the frame to the floor, and you only have about 4 or 5 inches. I'm thinking that a small quality sissor jack may work best----what do you think?

    BRP survey

Good Police Plan I think the purchase of Spyders for the police will improve law enforcement. Now, only those who can ride a motorcycle are accepted as cycle patrol----with Spyders, many more men and women could fill the ranks----I'm just wondering if the Spyders of tomorrow will be better...

    Parking brake

Where the PB Lever is Located is a real issue----I believe that because of its location (back, down , under) many of the PB errors in setting it or releasing it occur. So I took the matter in my own hands and added a "Z" shaped extension (up, out and easy to get to) out of a 1 1/2 " by 1/4"...

    Windshield decision

F1 Slider Marcel, the owner, is an honest man, and the F1 Slider is excellent---the slide-up portion of the windshield comes up to a point beyond my sight level, but you can adjust as you like for different weather conditions----I don't think there is anything out there that can perform or look...

    Parking Brake Lever

When parked, I have had difficulty getting my heel on the parking brake lever---it's so hidden and hard to reach. So I took some steel plate 1 1/2 inches wide and 1/4 inch thick----bent it into a "Z" shape, extending the brake lever up by 6 inches. Now I have no problem with it.
