• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is Running Diesel Oil in Your Spyder such a good idea?

T4 meets JASO MA and MA 2 spec? Sure it works, but I have always questioned whether it is the best solution, despite so many using it as a universal budget solution!? I personally prefer to run an oil specifically formulated for a given application. There is a reason why many formulators offer...

Appreciate you Lamont!!! I don't even have a Canyon but appreciate you guys that jump in and start the process on the new machines by diving in and doing for others.

22 Spyder RT Brake issues - EBC Rotor larger than OEM & abnormal/uneven pad wear. Does any of this make sense?

Common, Ron... You know the drill! All of us with the knowledge, charging shop rates is just ripping people off! ;)

On a Trail Rating System, I believe a Canyon Redrock can travel Level 2 Routes

We find the ground clearance borderline on the RT for traveling just the paved backroads around here! I'd kill for 6"+ ground clearance. Also hoping the KYB's on the Red Rock will at least be a usable piece of hardware after springs and tuning. Since we ride mostly 250+ mile days, I definitely...

NAPA Oil test results Shell Rotella T6 15W-40

I would guess we will have 7k on this oil change before it actually gets done. If the UOA comes back great, I'll go for the 9600 next time. If it looks kinda roached then we will shoot for 5k next time. I have run 75K on the same oil with make up added and filters swapped on my trucks and have...

NAPA Oil test results Shell Rotella T6 15W-40

On bikes like my KTM 1290, we have no issues going 10K+ miles with OUA coming back good for continued use. That is a lighter machine with much less drag, so maybe these pigs just work harder. I think my wife might be a bit more aggressive than average when the OEM tire was wasted right at 5k...

NAPA Oil test results Shell Rotella T6 15W-40

Looking at both of those UOA's it appears these things are a little hard on oil? Both samples fall right at the low side of viscosity despite being changed at a shorter than OE recommended interval? Wear rate per 1000 miles is also just above the 5ppm threshold. Could just be the shared oil...

What Rear Tire Size is needed to correct the speedo?

The 225/50R15 Kumho put our odometer right on and speedo 2mph high when compared with the GPS.

What Front Shocks Recommendations for a 2020+ RT?

What we experienced with our 2023 RT-L was the obvious body roll but combined with the poor ride quality over rougher back roads. I knew Baja Ron's bar was going to be a must, but the low spring OEM rate was also going to need to be dealt with. The rear damping was MUCH weaker than we desired...

Does anyone know when/if BRP will or have started Canyon Production?

Asked local dealer yesterday and they didn't even order a single unit? I had to actually explain to them what it was... Spoke with the dealer South of us where we purchased the RT last year... they ordered one each of an XT and a Redrock. They were due in Feb, but then delayed until March, and...

2022 OEM RT S2S seat versus redone Russell Day Long seat.

I have a Russel on my KTM 1290 and love it! Did 450 miles last Friday and never felt the need to stand up at all. Jay and the crew are awesome to deal with! Were lucky enough that they are 8 miles from our house, so we get ride in service. If the wife doesn't end up with a Canyon, we will...

Just ordered a Wilbers 640 rear shock! :)

That's what Elka told me too... I gave them probably too much info about the rider profile and loads, but they still missed the rear spring by a mile (possible 20-30%) and the fronts by a little bit (10%). Maybe if you could report back when you get it in hand, so we can compare notes and...

Just ordered a Wilbers 640 rear shock! :)

Any idea what they are sending you for a spring with the shock?

2019 RT brake pedal still travels too far with new front pads installed. How do I get it back to normal?

Also keep in mind that changing the rear brake pads could very well make your pedal feel worse since you have introduced yet another set of multiple surfaces that will have to "wear in" to their happy place before the space is taken up. Imagine your rotors are worn out of parallel (concave...

Has anybody found an A/mkt Air bag replacement?

My preference is to spring the vehicle for the loads normally seen and then use the bag to increase spring rate/maintain ride frequency when a passenger or cargo is added. Elka missed our rates by a mile so I have to pull the shocks off and swap the springs out now. I haven't gotten a number...

2019 RT brake pedal still travels too far with new front pads installed. How do I get it back to normal?

Yes, but DOT 5.1 is compatible with DOT3/4 - it has a higher boiling point.

2019 RT brake pedal still travels too far with new front pads installed. How do I get it back to normal?

If the system wasn't open, I would guess that after the hardware/paint backing compresses and the pads wear into the concave rotor surface, things would be back to normal. I'd flush the brake system w/ DOT5.1 fluid regardless, as it is recommended every 2 years.

Can anyone recommend a TPMS system other than FOBO?

I use this unit on my Wife's Spyder and Have been using the 2 wheeled version on my Husky for about 6 years without any issues!

A New Look - How about an Oil/Fuel thread? Fuels can reduce wear...

Being a techy guy myself in the automotive/powersports business... I personally enjoy Lake's research and believe in what he says. I don't really care what the guy looks/sounds like... That said, most of these machines will live longer than we own them just putting the cheapest oil and fuel in...
