• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Looking for a technique to get to the rear tires valve stem - anyone?

The rear pulley can fit to the wheel in 5 positions. Only 1 position gives (the factory position) gives 'easier' access to the valve stem. I've noticed on other 2 or 3 other Spyders in my area that the sprocket has been incorrectly positioned at tyre change time. I also fit a 2" stem to the...

Do you think we'll see Spyders with DCT soon?

OFF TOPIC. Peter, are you confusing AMT with DCT? Sure, the newer big Volvos have a second clutch pack on their AMT, to speedup gear changes but l don't believe it's regarded as a DCT. What say you?

Does this heat shield kit for GS/RS make a difference?

The 'missing heat shield' will help keep heat from the rad off your leg. The 'missing air dam' helps more air to flow thru the radiator, which is a good thing. I made my own soon after getting my GS.

Completed my semi annual "lie on my back and add air to the rear tire" routine

At next tyre change, have a 2" valve stem fitted. The extra length is flexible and helps when checking. Also ensure that the drive pulley is fitted to the wheel in the original (factory fitted) position. It fits into the wheel in 5 positions - only 1 gives easier access to the valve.

Recall done. Not sure they put the right sprocket on.

I reckon you're over-thinking the issue. I have never heard of this same concern previously. Apply a couple of tiny dabs of grease to the edge of the belt perhaps and take it for a run and see what develops - that's what I would do, but you're not me. :roflblack:

Recall done. Not sure they put the right sprocket on.

Ride it forward a short distance, stop and check. I take the couple of tools with me to adjust it as needed each stop until correct.

With respect Iso: Start her up idling in gear on the jack ... is not the way to check alignment.
