• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

ZX14R Rear fender tail mod on Spyder RS-S

That's mine in reply 5 below. I used 2 of the existing screws on the underside of the trike and drill and tapped a third hole rearward so that the ZX could be secured. https://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?17229-Rear-Fender-Removal&highlight=ZX14

There were no TB issues with the early Spyders because it was manually operated. The all electrics one caused a lot of trouble.

2008 GS SM5 engaging Reverse without using lever! Any ideas why? Fixes??

Have you looked down at the reverse lever at the bottom end of the cable to see why it's not returning? Perhaps the spring down there is broken. It's not a clutch issue.

2009 Front Sprocket - WHAT shape are the teeth on the shaft?

I don't recall what tension the belt has. I haven't needed to check it for some years. I'm sure though, it would be at the low end of the spec. I'll dig out my Krickit later and check it. So I gather you're going to have it stripped down to replace the shaft - correct?

2009 Front Sprocket - WHAT shape are the teeth on the shaft?

Yes. You may need loctite 660 to fix it if it's loose in the bore.

2009 Front Sprocket - WHAT shape are the teeth on the shaft?

12 hrs is what the BRP book probably says. I would double it and expect the person doing it to regret they ever got involved. Over tight belt also caused the driven pulley bearing to flog the bore it fits into, causing it to be loose. This can be checked by grabbing the big pulley at 12 and...

2009 Front Sprocket - WHAT shape are the teeth on the shaft?

10 to 12 hours for the job would be a huge challenge even for a brilliant mechanic like me. :yikes: Mine is not welded as it never had a chance to get loose at the higher torque on a new bolt. Peter's suggestion on new pulley and bolt s worth a try. I would use Loctite 660. Welding is a...

2009 Front Sprocket - WHAT shape are the teeth on the shaft?

The tension spec on the pulley bolt was very low, that's why they increased it a couple of times. Red dust was an issue way back then. A pity about the shaft splines Gilly. It should be replaced really, but at least one pulley, as I recall, has been welded on to avoid the huge cost. I have...

Change the Brake Fluid & quoted $780.60 - Any suggestions?

It's important NOT to introduce air into the system 'and empty everything.' This will create trouble. With a syringe of some sort, remove as much old fluid from reservoirs as possible, fill with fresh fluid, bleed as normal until you're confident that the new fluid is through all three...
