• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Noticed a leakage today.

Hope to tour your country some day. My mother's ancestors came from there and ran down far back wedding records to a church that still exists outside Aust Agder. Ship builder that knew his stuff. He left the docks there and didn't stop until he, people and his sloop arrived in New York :)...

QUESTION, how much do you hate digging out your battery on older models

I joined the "hate" club, but space in the frunk is at a premium for me when touring... so I groan and moan every few years to pull things apart to get at the battery. :)

    Clutch Master Cylinder - RS SM5 2010

Does anyone know where to get a replacement rubber gasket for under the reservoir cover on a manual RS SM5 (2010). I've gone to Cheapcycleparts.com, Brp parts and find the reservoir cover but not the rubber gasket and... if they are one piece, everywhere the cover part is not available. The...

    Communication Devices which works best

I have an old Sena SMH10 and so do a few buddies. They work well for up to 4. They can work with more if you choose to use your mobile phone with them. The newer Sena and Cardo have mesh that allows linking up larger groups through the unit (not the phone). If our group would expand, we'd...

    Spyder sales

You are right that outdoor sports things are selling well. I have a buddy that is an engineer for Indian and all across Polaris' line things are selling faster than they can produce them, especially utv's. I think it is pent up demand to break out of the house, cash from cancelled vacations...

Retaining clip for front brake pad

He moved from his home in Winthrop Harbor IL ... so no idea where he now resides. I've had this Spyder now going on 4 years and still really enjoying it, even if its an older generation... like me! :) Thanks Paul. Dave

Retaining clip for front brake pad

They probably did... he had a bunch of loose stuff he bagged and nothing in the box of parts he gave me. So I'm unfortunately missing the clips. I do have enough oil filters for the next 38 1/2 years though... so appreciate my box of stuff.

Retaining clip for front brake pad

These are oem ... the guy I bought from was a brp employee... but just the pads and filters and stuff in a box and in baggies. So not EBC product. :( Thanks though.

    Just hit my first dog

Glad your close encounter kept you in the saddle and not airborne. Animals along the way are so dangerous and the source of much adrenalin in a rider's veins!

Retaining clip for front brake pad

Have a message out to Ron :) He's like a superman of the board. My RS came with an extra set of brake pads when I got it used... time to put them on for this season. Buddy has a shop and was putting them on and the old retainer clips broke when removing original pads. New pads are just pads...

I'll try that too... thanks for the advice. Onward!

    Clutch Lever Adjust

Thought I could see the fluid through the window, but was way low. Refilled. I may have the deteriorating O ring malady documented elsewhere on the site. Oh joy! At least there is good info here on doing that work... as sounds like $$$ at a dealership.

    Clutch Lever Adjust

My clutch lever/cable? is loose ... when I put in lowest detent, it doesn't engage the clutch at all. It only works when it is floating on the highest point on the wheel. The adjusting wheel only spins to the different settings... turning repeatedly right or left does not move it in or out...

Interesting Info from BRP 2020 Report

Yes, both brands will be gone. I guess there is nothing left for BMW except for Madison, as the Milwaukee BMW closed. Rumor is that one may be reopening there. Madison and Milwaukee area Harely Dealerships remain, of course. Mischler's last day will be Dec. 22 from the press release I read.

Interesting Info from BRP 2020 Report

Today I was saddened to hear that a 60 year-old Harley dealership in town is shuttering its doors. Pressure from Covid and pressure on Harley has them reacting to the new environment by closing smaller town dealerships. Everyone knows that cycle sales are down and this is a difficult new day...

Front sprocket cost R and R???

Is the pulley as much of an issue on the older RS models? I still am bopping around on a '10. It seems it is new models, but that may just because most on here have moved on beyond the RS.

    Today was a sad day

I have done the same... changed the oil in the snowblower to get my other "fun" machine ready for the next season. The spyder is under wraps until the robins return in the spring.
