• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    2nd Class Owner

Hey you '15 Snob... I still ride a 2010 RS. Just kidding. :) Mine is paid for, still runs great and is a great ride in its own right. I don't think any of us is second class ... we all love our spyders, be they brand new or vintage machines. Sadly, getting ready to put mine to sleep for...

New spyder owner, old motorcyclist: is there a kit to add a handlebar brake lever

I grabbed a handful of air for a bit ... but then the brain adapted and haven't found myself doing that for quite awhile. Takes some miles and smiles to get the gray matter behaving without thinking. Keep at it. Or, like others have said, there are some kits but they are pricey. See where...

I Hate To Be Negitive B-U-T

I have an older 2010 RS and so far it has been flawless and the design seems well executed. I've owned hondas and harleys and don't notice an unusual dropoff with the Spyder I own, which is amazing since their production numbers are much smaller than the bigger brands. I hope the troubles...

    2013 St Tupperware removal

I think Lamonster still has a youtube video of putting them on the RS ... similar or the same as the ST. Found it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iO2a_eL4ccU

    Sudden end to a vacation

Thankful you both are okay. As others have said, with that much damage and stuff pushed around... I would press insurance to total it and get a new/different spyder. There is no guarantee it can be made right again... and most with that much damage moving things out of place will never be...

    Belt tension

What is the recommended cricket measurement for the old RS (2010) belts while on the ground? I should check mine. Thanks. Nevermind, found an old thread that said 160-180 for my RS. Thanks. :)

    Back from Ozarks

Awesome week of riding to and fro. The tropical storm went past while we stayed in Branson. Morning greeted us with blue skies again and the riding in Arkansas was spectacular. We were gone for a week and put on about 2500 miles. The strange range of Covid restrictions made life interesting...

Trip to Ozarks (MO & AR)

Thanks... I have a bandana that makes me look like I rolled Willie Nelson. :) Thanks for the information! We have been planning routes using the Ozarkrides.com site. We want to do the "Whole Hog" best of AR ride and then up in MO the "Hellbender." We've got a week to bump around. So far...

Trip to Ozarks (MO & AR)

Heading down to the Ozarks this coming weekend and week. Has anyone done any riding down there recently? Curious about how thick the roads are with riders experiencing cabin fever and also, information how open are these states with hotels, food, bars, etc. Thanks.

    Being seen

I put extra bright led's in my fog lamps on my older spyder. Friends I ride with noticed the difference immediately. They said, "This year I can see you when you are behind me." But the best advice is what you are doing. Never assume anyone sees you. Ride like you are invisible. There are...

    Post-ride disinfect

Getting ready to go on a tour in a few weeks and was concerned too, to a little bit anyways. Just heard on radio today that they are backing off the virus' ability to transmit via surface contact. Spread seems to be by droplet. Still a good idea to be as safe as possible, as many of us are...

    Mean people suck

I laugh at them I say, "Yeah, but you can't put a mowing deck on yours and earn beer money like I can!" That usually gets even the stonefaced to laugh. As a former Harley rider, I never looked down on any other motorcycle brand or type. They all allow a person to enjoy the wind. When I'm on...

    Sena +Mesh reviews

We're still using the old smh-10s. They have been dependable and not anything that frustrates us on our small group of 4 tours. I would move up if we grew our group, but so far we like the small group... easy to coordinate vacations, ride distance, keep together and find lodging/food for...

    Harley-Davidson CEO Resigns

I'm a Wisconsin guy, a pastor, and a former parish was near the Harley factories in Menomonee Falls, WI. Half of my church rode them, many worked for them, so I would have been run out if I rode a Honda from my youth (not really, church people are forgiving, right?!). :) Back in the day, the...

    engine oil for 998 sm5 ?

Check out this 2019 thread that talks about Rotella and the 998 clutch. Again, experience I believe was from older formulation of T6 not current. Makes me wonder about other products and how recommendations can change with new formulations. Sorry for the delayed response... have been down...

    engine oil for 998 sm5 ?

The bad experience with Rotella T6 happened to Lamont in the past.. with clutch slippage. So, the vtwins/clutch are more finicky than their newer counterparts. Still, with the formulations of oils changing across time, I really wonder if the same caution needs to be voiced regarding T6 today...
